1:30 can we please take a minute to appreciate how fucking brilliant this shot is? the camera panning up Tidal wave's gigantic silhouette is just genius and perfectly instils intimidation in the the player.
@@kerry1979 Yeap, thats why i got instantly hyped. i thought its another boring stream then someone pointed out that Tidal Wave is in the box art The best part is not only it is titan, some part can become an armor for armada megs
Fun Fact: If you glide over to the furthest rock at the ocean (the one where there is a datacon), tidal wave will be deep enough into the water where he will smash you instead of shooting
The first time I fought him as a kid, my dumb ass thought I could fly over to his shoulder and shoot him from there, boi was I wrong. This game was honestly way better than it had any right to be. I always felt so tense playing this game cuz the environments were so big that enemy's could be around any corner and they could all over power you if you weren't prepared. You could explore the map at your own pace to get more minicon powers and get so many cool abilities and then you have awesome bossfights like this. Game is a hidden gem.
You as a kid weren't totally wrong. actually, you can do this. see this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y9biLNjLycw.html at 18:20
I tried doing it with cheats (unlimited dash, unlimited health) and 1 of 2 things would happen. Either I would start falling down (couldn’t gain anymore altitude) or I would get REALLY close to his head only to sink IMMEDIATELY)
i flew up to his head with the cheats one time, and he turned so his shoulder bumped into me and oh lord. as I fell all the way down, I kept bouncing off his legs on the way down and finally fell all the way down into the water and then the game crashed when he stepped on me lol. I dont think the game could process that much overkill LOL
"wHy Do PeOpLe WaNt TiDaL wAvE tO bE tItAn ClAsS?" *_This right fucking here_* is why people want Tidal Wave to be a titan class. Anything less won't do him justice.
This has got to be one of the coolest boss fights ever. There's a lot of "giant" boss enemies in games, but many of them cheap out by having them stand still, or just having you fight their upper torso. But not this one. The moment you see the dude far off in the horizon turn, and slowly march towards you at 1:46 is scary shit. Only thing I can compare it to is the bosses from Shadow of the Colossus.
Played this as a kid, had one of those “fat back” TVs. I remember loving the hell outta this game, and getting to this boss. Then as soon as he transformed and his head peaked over the mountain range, my eyes wide I prepared myself for a epic fight. Right then, the tv shit itself, the screen went dark and it made this weird clicking noise. That tv never turned back on and we never got another one to play on (we couldn’t use the main tv to play games because of screen burn). That was the last day I saw tidal wave, never got past this fight. Anything after this boss fight is and will always be a mystery to me until I get a ps2 and play it again. That will be the day 😌...
Watching this again makes me a little sad that this game hasn't been remastered, keep the same game just update the graphics, I would give anything to see tidal wave again in modern graphics.
I think I was the only person who tried to get as close as I could to him and tried to sail him, I also wish you could play as a decepticon that would be sick
As cool as that would be... with the way this game controls and tidal wave looking so stiff and clunky just from a third person point of view as an AI bombarding you with screaming missiles I can't imagine he'd be very fun to play with when it takes you 10 seconds just to turn 50 degrees to the left THEN start walking
I remember my dad would always rent this game out back when we had Hollywood video instead of Star video. He always wanted to get it but didn't have it in stores nor there was any gamestops near us. Went to LA county fair and they had a game stop and the game was there. My sibs and I would always watch my dad play the game because it was entertaining. Good times😊😊😊
@@nickredbear9293 It's More TERRIFYING With Dark RED GLOWING EYES Similar To THE DEVIL And When He Get Close TO Any AUTOBOTS He PUNCHES The AUTOBOT Location
A massive warship was spotted outside of the mid Atlantic area where they were Decepticon forces to collect minicons. Your mission is to glide to the warship to access the hanger once you get there you'll have to proceed though the warship to get to the bridge to deactivate it but then the warship transforms into the Decepticon Tidal wave and he's body is heavily armored the only way to defeat him is to target his head and avoid his missile attack and he'll be destroyed and you'll be on your way to the next level Alaska.
Wow yeah true this is the first time i hear red alert in English in this good old game ,as a French player ,and I know perfectly knock out’s voice ,i have no doubt it’s the same voice actor
i remember how hard this part was for me when i was 5 - 8 years old, now that i see it with a mind of 16 years old i see how easy it was, i used to shoot everywhere without thinking too much, i don't remember getting any further because i raged and my mother sayed to me to leave it to other day...that day never came because my ps2 broke when i was 8 or 9 yrs old, those where the good times
This game kinda exaggerated how big Tidal Wave really is. In canon he's only about twice the size of Megatron. And he technically IS a combiner - his vehicle mode can split into three parts.
@@twotailedavenger so basically the developers were like "let's add Tidal Wave because he's cool. But how big should we make him?" "he's about twice as big as Megatron, so should we still add him?" "yeah, but let's make him as big as an aircraft carrier. No one will notice the size difference" "sounds good"
Man, tidalwave has to be the transformer with more size variations in the franchise... from almost normal (working as weapons to megatron), to fortress and this, almost a town, damn
Same bro I got to that part where I have to scale this mountain to find Megatron and there's just way too many fucking enemies for any Loadout combination I could possibly build
Scenario that happened: Brother: what are you watching? Me: a transformers boss fight. Brother: the boss fights on a ship? Me: no the boss fight IS THE SHIP!!!!!
This was definitely my favorite fight but now that I think about it to make this fight more epic I wish you were able to scale his body in that form as you fight him to damage his head even more, also while dodging that artillery. It sucks you have to fight from a distance.
Can you imagine this game being remade into a trilogy spanning Armada trilogy as a whole? Even as stand alone titles, if done in thenstyle of WFC, easily could be thebbest transformers game of all time. Imagine this boss fight x the metroplex scene from fall of Cybertron.
I'd love to get a titan of this guy in legacy, but I don't think it's likely, and here's why. They've already revealed the newest titan for this current wave as the Nemesis to counterpart the Ark from WFC, and I don't think they'd release another expensive figure so soon. Also, if he is titan class, he wouldn't be able to realistically combine with the leader Megatron. So if Tidal Wave does come to legacy, I think he will be commander size
RW:ever had one of those days when a huge boss you have to win against and your the small guy asking “HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DEFEAT SOMETHING THAT BIG?!” This is one of them😰
I want more transformer games where we fight giant named enemies not giant nameless boss#3 I want Trypticon, Omegasupream, Tidal wave, Metroplex hell I want to fighrt Unicron.
Now I wish hasbro made a video game for legacy in which you fight Tidal wave as a boss then as you move your way up from the bottom there are less and less enemies till you reach the bridge in which there is no enemies which gives off a spooky ghost ship vibe. Then, the ship starts transforming and you run out to a near by island and have to fight Tidal Wave until a gap in his foot opens up and you run inside it and have to climb from his foot to his brain, fighting his insides and his outer guns.
I absolutely loved this game as a kid and I still play it once a year over like winter break lol Am I the only one tho who absolutely never used their small minicon (when you press square)
I honestly found it such a useless mechanic. I never noticed much of a power boost, the health drain is ridiculous, and to top it off, you lose out on the game’s pretty looking areas
I remember playing it, I didnt even scare of him but I was surprised about the ship in the ocean so I tried to get on it instead of fighting the boss LOL
I hate how this player get stuck in the water and then get too close of tidal! I did learn my lesson many time because he non stop sending these 2 flying guys. He really run in the wrong direction many times and plus the fact... HE NEVER USE the transformation truck for run faster away.
