The Mirage/Jazz thing is an exact repeat of the Blitzwing/Starscream in the Bumblebee movie.

I'm actually very pleasantly surprised by how much positivity you showed for the Beast Wars aspect of this film 😃

To me changing wheeljack and mirage's alt mode makes sense somewhat, as the race cars wouldn't really work on the setting, and wheeljack being the "inventor" of the group, having an alt mode that can carry extra stuff would make sense

Yeah, I was really hoping for more of Wheeljack and Arcee from the BB movie and I get that that was their Cybertronian form and would likely undergo some changes to fit Earth-based vehicles but it's a major step back from their BB designs. Dunno why they changed Arcee's signature pink to hot red and why she now looks like she's not getting enough energon in her diet. I really hope that hippie van isn't Wheeljack.

I have similar hopes, and reservations as well. When it was announced that Mirage would have Jazz’s alt mode I thought that was a weird choice…and finding out that Wheeljack is a VW Van throws me off. I’m still cautiously optimistic, and I’m excited to see my favorite franchise make a return to the big screen, even if it doesn’t spark nostalgia in every dark corner of it. We got A little foreshadowing at the end with “although here may not be Here”

Edge of tomorrow is a solid movie. I would check it out sometime.

They could have used Tracks if anything, especially who his human partner is. Could have made him the unreliable C8 corvette.

Bobby you were spot on with all of my thoughts & opinions about this. There's so many turn offs just from the trailer itself. But I suppose we'll see what might actually be good or at least about it when it drops.

I wish that Bumblebee movie could have been the movie we got in 2007. I try to imagine how things would have been different today.

The whole problem with the live action films is they tie the bot to a human and it becomes the humans story and the TF's all become secondary, almost non existent. I will watch it, as I have all of them and will probably go into the same category as the first 5 as just a CG showcase.

To be honest, I feel the movie is taking a step back from what made people like Bumblebee for...basically resembling the last couple Bayformer films. I agree that the Maximals look okay for what we have seen, though why the Predacons aren't here seems odd unless they're sequel set up. Of course, I was snapped at by people online for having any kind of criticism of the trailer....cause heaven forbid you have any kind of opinion that isn't "This is going to be the best film ever!"

I feel the same way, they really need to step away from having to explain the TF’s with the human characters, I am interested to see where they go with this but definitely not overly excited due to the past movie storylines. I totally got what you meant on the Fanstoys vid, but unfortunately some people just like to shout and moan when someone else doesn’t agree with them, like u always say ‘If u like it, u win’, great vid as always man 👊

For me its the fact they always seem to make weird decisions. It feels half assed and like they don’t care at all about the franchise

"Why go so far out of your way?" It's always been like that, though. They typically draw a name out of a hat and do whatever they want to with it. If they bothered researching things, I'm sure there are enough transformers out there that they could find a decent fit for their stories.

I’m a toon guy and I still havent bought FTs like 5 recent releases, just been going through and buying their older stuff like hydra and cyclonus most recently so you’re onto something there

Mirage's vehicle mode was changed mainly due to it being illegal to drive formula 1 cars on normal roads

I’m sort of optimistic about this movie if only they go the Star Trek 2009 timeline story route. They mention past and future in the trailer and the maximals did time travel in the show. Starting a whole new beast/g1 rise timeline and moving away from bay prime timeline would be cool way to shake things up lol. Fingers crossed!

It looks to me like they focus on Mirage because they needed his powers for the plot. I'm o.k. with changing Mirages alt mode but they could have used a different car and they should have made his bot mode more like his classic one. I'm with you 100% on Wheeljack and Arcee and the Maximals.

The holograms is Hound. Mirage is the invisibility. I wished they went with another car for Mirage. It looks too much like Jazz. They probably didn't went with Ironhide and Jazz because they died in the previous movies since this isn't a reboot.

What I experience the most of the movieverse is apathy. I cared enough to watch this video (though, that's because I like watching Skully's videos). I'll care enough to watch the movie once. That's about it. They're just not my thing. I'm happy for those who like this stuff, but I've got my G1, and that's all I'll ever need. Wish everyone all the best :)

It looks pretty good to me, all complaints aside I’d still give it a watch.

If after 15 years of franchise movies we aren't convinced that Hollywood movie companies/writers/producers care about the characters of their productions, then I'm not sure what it would take. It's all about the take, what they can take from us as consumers and what they can take from the theaters who need their product to survive. Just keep saying the mantra "it's okay to enjoy the franchise and not be a fan of the live action movies". The real cut of it is that what many want (or at least this viewer) is a full length movie that is completely like the first seven minutes of Bumblebee. And we'll never get it. Ever. Also you should never have to apologize for someone not paying attention to what you are getting at. It's your opinion, your channel.

I feel pretty much the same. I really liked Bumblebee and the hope was that would start the franchise in the right direction, but seems like this may be going back in the bay direction. The writer did NOT write Edge of Tomorrow, which was great IMO. He was just a producer on it. He did write Army of the Dead on Netflix which was hot garbage. Wait and see. I have low expectations.

i saw a couple leaked scenes, characterization is on par, scourge is a little better than i expected, given how the sonic movies have been turning out (also paramount), this one may suprise us, but i'm not gonna get stockholmed again.

To be fair with the scene of Mirage the kid is trying to steal the Porsche and that’s when he takes them on that police chase but I get what you’re saying

I agree Mirage should have just been Mirage or made the model they used to just be Jazz! I also agree that many of those that claim to want "toon accuracy" are full of it!

I'd be happy if they stopped using bumblebee as the main character never liked him. I think this movie might be better then expected but I'm going in with low expectations. I also wish we could get megatron at least

Take it as it comes. All we need is a fun and exciting movie with a fairly cohesive story. Hopefully it’s not 3 hours long. A good hour and 45 tops is all that’s needed.

i feel like turning invisible is less exciting of a power than creating holograms - strictly talking for the visual sake of the movie in general

Very fair criticisms and I found the positive points you made on this to be very interesting.

I think the Bumblebee movie set a new stage and we should be optimistic. Personally I don’t need all the movies to look like G1. And in terms of the villains; in bumblebee they did a pretty good job developing shatter and drop kick, we spent many scenes with just them. We get so. Much. G1 catering. We need to have some new stories, and new characters. I’m optimistic and I know transformers fans feel ‘hurt’ by Bay but we’ve already seen one good film in this new reboot series. I think as fans we need to spend more time being excited about what’s coming rather than critiquing it for not being like everything else we’ve ever gotten.

I'm going but it's only to see tigatron and air razor on the big screen. Don't care about anything else. Decepticons will probably have 3 minutes of screen time. Jazz being Mirage straight pisses me off. Do one or the other. Don't make a defined character and then name them someone else.

They are going faaaaaar to the side with adding in Beast Wars characters with the regular Transformers. Always believed they should remain separate. Not to mention they really needed to redo the franchise simply again. Get in the Decepticons with a G1 twist. Keep it simple. This is like the Starwars sequels alllll over again.

I’m not disappointed Bumblebee is taking a step back, in fact it looks like in one scene he’s either badly wounded or killed by Scourge and I can’t tell you how pleased I would be with that. I hate movie Bumblebee and his R2D2 bleep speak. He has never been the Bumblebee I liked as a kid.

My complaint is the weapon of Optimus Prime. A little bit is look. My humble opinion 😅

It's disappointing because you're literally the only voice in the community that takes big picture views of the community itself and that's valuable to me. I imagine you'll keep your Patreon community going, but I'm not sure I can follow you there. I respect the hustle but tbh I've nickeled and dimed myself with independent content creators to a state that I can't really carry any more expense from that. But we're all nickeled and dimed to death lately, I think. Whether it's our time or money. Of course it has a breaking point. Maybe you've reached that. I'll await your big announcement.

Remember, Michael Bay is producing this movie. So he still gets what he wants from his neolithic style.

Super excited for this movie. Arcee looks fantastic as a Ducati motorcycle, the Iconic Ducati red really looks clean in bot mode (which looks suspiciously similar to Energon Arcee) I was In 2nd grade when BW was airing, I didn't think I'd be so excited to see the cast in live action.

I guarantee that Arcee is red because someone decided pink is problematic for a female character and they want to minimize or phase it out.

The intro of the trailer should remind us of a certain "Incident" when a little person was near a gorilla

My initial thought was that the porsche transformer was Tracks given how he seems to meet his human friend... Or maybe a character that was a mix of Jazz/Tracks (and would be named after either of those characters). Perhaps he's a combination of Jazz/Mirage/Tracks? I thought Mirage could only do invisibility... Holograms seem to be Hound's thing. But maybe Mirage has some hologram abilities that I just don't remember? I can't stand Bay movies... Other than The Rock. His transformers movies are among the worst... But overall, the family and I all enjoyed Bumblebee (at least in part due to it being Bay free). If initial user reviews are positive for this film, we'll go see this one too.

Looks great! And that's the only thing I'm excited for. What we really want is....A movie that leads up to the opening scene in the bumblebee movie. No human characters!

The way these films are, I wasn't a huge fan of most of them. I think my favorite was Blackout, and Barricade was my favorite. I gave up on nitpicking for the sake of it. I get it, I do. Just... We have TF86. My 12year will watch that over the new stuff. I can find solace in that.

The Arcee colors and motorcycle mode are based around the Unicron trilogy Arcee. She still has some pink here and there like her upper arms for example. I think it has to do with the brand as a whole for some of these design philosophies. The bumblebee movie came out around the same time as cyberverse and the siege toyline where all three were based around mostly g1 and the late days of the Cybertron war. Now we're in a spot where the brand seems to be celebrating several points in it's history, most obvious with how legacy has been so far.

I'm most excited for the figures we may get from 3rd party for the beast wars.

The beast transformers do look good. My problem is there are humans in these movies and the take up 80% of the screen time. Here might not be here? You moving?

they look as they should and did in the cartoon but more robotic and still looking sorta like it should just like that first part in bumblebee movie and i love it as a huge beast wars fan now let me see rex megatron and waspinator and terrorsaur or scorponok or tarantulas definatly

I'm interested in watching this film, but not really too excited. Weird, as you said, that for some characters they stick to what we're family with but others they change way off the mark. Honestly thought the van was gonna be ratchet/Ironhide before learning it to be wheeljack

You made some good points regarding some rehashed plot points. To be honest, I was so hyped by the trailer that I mostly overlooked the "I'm not driving" thing. I thought it was par for the course, so I filtered it. Interestingly, my Mom mentioned to me "But Arcee is not red, she is pink" and she is not very interested in Transformers, but I have a little niece that loves Arcee, so Mom knows about her because of my niece. I liked her new design, because even then the BB movie's Arcee was more Gee-wah-nee, I thought the headsculpt was awful. To your point regarding Mirage, they may have thought that it was weird to made him Jazz because he will be split in two halves in 2007, but they forgot that they also killed off something called Arcee in Revenge of the Fallen (but it was something weird like three different robots that transform into motorcycles, but have one collective conscience know as Arcee). I think that Transformers live action movies in general has suffered a lot about continuity. Cybertron came to the Earth twice (though in Dark of the Moon seemed like it was destroyed), then the first time that Transformers came was when the 13 Primes sealed the matrix from the Fallen who wanted to get energy from the Sun, but no, it was when their ancestors came to create Transformium, etc, etc. They need something like what Flint Dille was supposed to do with the G1 series, someone who was in charge to oversee the lore. In general, I'm hyped to see the end result. Hopefully they continue building the next movies using this continuity and we forget about the first 5 movies. Let's do some Dinobots, but PROPER Dinobots! 😁😎

The character names really frustrate me. It’s just a lack of respect for the history and franchise. If you want a van character you have 2 easy choices with 2 distinct personality’s. Tough guy/warrior van character…Ironhide. Science/tech/doctor van character…Ratchet. The Porsche character has always been Jazz, if Mirages alt mode doesn’t work logically(lol) there are a ton of other sports cars to chose from, and you could even go with his actual color scheme while your at it. It would be unthinkable for a movie studio to make a Justice league movie and just mix and match the characters names, transformers deserves the same.

Mirage looks too,icy like “Sally” from Pixar CARS. Arcee has a VERY womanly figure and a HUGE rack, and I don’t care for OP’s new look. He has a really teeny waist. He and Arcee looked so much better in the first film.

I think the only thing I inherently don’t like about the film is the Terrorcon name - when I heard the Terrorcons were in it I thought the Abominus team, but otherwise I’m cautiously hopeful. I don’t expect anything astounding but I expect it to be as decent as bumblebee

It's a good trailer that should make casuals believe it's gonna be a good film. From a Transformers perspective, it seems consistent with being bad in all the same ways. The Beast Wars characters are the most respectful adaptations of the original media ever seen in Bayformers, which is massively positive... ...then they cast Ron Perlman instead of Garry Chalk. The trailer, to me, seemed to really depend on his voice to bring gravitas and it lacked personality, energy and that genuine kick of authenticity that it really needed.

I’m not feeling this film. The CGI looks really unfinished despite it being just a trailer. Arcee not being pink is probably somebody on the production side thinking that the girl character can’t be pink. Because pink is historically a female coded color. Still it’s lame change. I will be curious if the leaks going around will turn out to be true that this might be their version of Days of Future Past. Scourge being the Bay Prime twisted by Unicron from the future could be interesting. It’ll probably be wokified and more focus on the humans schlock.

I am SUPER PUMPED about this movie. All of the Michael Bay haters out there, you really should remember your history. Without that 2007 movie this brand would be all but dead.

The worst offense redesign wise is the bay prime face, and they made wheeljack BALD. Supposedly he’s gonna have big classes. And it makes me worried they made him a younger Que They also completely redesigned arcee to make her look like the voice actor. Which is something the bay films did that made all the autobots look uncanny

What I'm hating the most about this trailer, it looks like it's completely undone everything that made bumblebee good. Simple, small scale, basic story about the deceptions hunting the autobots down. This trailer looks like it's got bays grubby prints all over it

Par for the course, live action offers some cool stuff but then taints it with bizarre disrespect of the source material.

It still looks like bayformers. I don't think they do a good enough job of fitting these all together and it you want them to it needs to be worked out, a lot of people think this is a sequel. Also it bothers me they keep getting people who don't know transformers, Mirage Blitzwing Devastator. For me the beast wars stuff was a chance to reboot the franchise and see how that goes. But they are sticking with the bayverse and I'm not into it. So I'll pass.

The other characters need some time to shine in these movies. Just like the cartoons. I’m a bit tired of Bumblebee. I rather see sunstreaker and sideswipe. Even trailbrraker hound and cliffjumper.

Like it honestly makes me think the production team doesn’t repeat the TF franchise like a Star Wars or a marvel like at this point we all know wheeljack is just gonna be named slapped and nothing more you can tell with the casting and so far the rumours are coming ture he won’t even look like wheeljack. What I don't understand why these all need to be exactly like g1 style toys/characters? I get it invokes nostalgia but you also need to be open to change and new interpretations. Seems like if the colors aren't exact or a fender is out of place some people just have a b*%$# fit. That just makes me laugh.

The one thing that can ruin this film is the human element, casting choice and or script/plot that involves the humans, that are lets face it WHO?? the rest i can watch with headphones on and enjoy the flashy visuals...

The whole beast gimmick was supposed to be a way to deal with prehistoric Earth conditions. The future Maximals did not have beast modes on Cybertron in the comic that came with my DVD set of BW. And they transitioned to the technorganic forms when they returned to their home planet in Beast Machines. Giant beast modes here under present Earth conditions make no sense. Meh, whatever, movie. These Bayformers movies are like how 1980s toylines sampled bits and pieces of other preexisting toylines without any concern for the glaring contextual holes. A Macross Valkyrie (Jetfire) was conspicuous in G1 TF, but a super deformed Skull Squadron Valk was completely out of place in the Convertors toy line. The toy companies didn't care. They just treated other product lines like a buffet, context and original lore be damned. Same thing here, except these movie do the same thing with TF lore. Meh, whatever, movie.

Drop. The. Human. Lead(s).

Sure hope we get lots of military randos and unfunny stereotyped robots urinating on things.

remember these forms could be early scans of earth vehicles! I'm certain they will scan other vehicles and upgrade towards the middle or end of the film . the story looks like a progressive timeline to bring it to the present!

I’m concerned by the same goofy-styled comedy shown in the trailer that looks like it could have been taken straight from the earlier Bay movies. It feels like a soft re-reboot back to those films, moving away from everything Bumblebee set up. It also doesn’t help that ObiWan was one of the worst written shows I’ve ever seen.

I was hoping Bumblebee was going to be a "Reset" providing fans with what we actually wanted to see. Bumblebee gave me G1 and G2 vibes for the rest of the movies to come but just like the battle between Boomers and Millennials, the makers seemed to completely forget "Gen X" and made a G1 Vs Beast Wars.

I didn't like the use of Notorious BIG in this trailer. Should have used Ol Dirty shouting BROOKLYN ZOO.

They are continuing with bumblebee tho Bobby, the world doesn’t know they exist in that one just s7 and Charlie and her family Also there is some pink in arcee still ( a hot pink bike would stick out way more than the red, I think they are actually going for them being in disguise, hey atleast she’s got her visor from the g1 movie 😊 While yes the audience gets this, again this world DOESNT know they are a thing ( I also loved that the Batman treats you like you’ve seen a Batman film before!❤) they suprisingly kept in the DL in BB

I’m not enthusiastic about this film at all. The Cybertron scenes from the last Bumblebee movie beat out all the TF movies combined.

All transformers movie trailers throughout the years is like woman who looks like she can talk the talk, give you that tickle and tease…. But when it’s time to throw down… head game is TRASH! And this trailer is no different. And also note SNL Pete Davidson is voicing Mirage/Jazz “Mir-Jazz?”. And “RU-vid Vlogger” Liza Koshy is voicing Arcee. Yeah let’s see how that pans out. That 4 minute Cybertron scene in the Bumble movie was just another tickle and tease….But I already know BayFormer Fans are gonna say “this movie isn’t for you”. Trash head game.

Man I really didn't like bumblebee that much. It was peak studio interference and the only soul it had was better done in et and iron giant.

When people that don't Transformers make a Transformers movie. I'm fine with changing things up... but not when you make one bot as another. It's obvious to me characters in this movie are just a cash grab trying to change up things for sales with little to no thought about who the character was or other characters they are trampling over. Otherwise I'm sure the movie will be... entertaining.
