@@rugalheidbernstein9944 The Tim Heada one is slightly more accurate to the original design. Though I can see someone like Dr. Wu or Shockwave's Lab making a flash with an LED in it at some point. The Matrix Workshop one does have more classically style individual pistols with the set though. I don't much like the way the shoulder accessories mount on the toy's shoulders though - the Hasbro solution is way better.
I just wish they would sell the extra accessories from the Reco Team as a pack so we could have it for purple Refraktor without having to buy a whole other set of repaint figures...
Great review, it seems you're the first one to review this set :). The box is impressive, the set just screams "This is the way Refraktor is supposed to look like". I really love this set, but the price... I think it's the same price point as Jetfire, so most likely I won't be able to get this set (and this is the second time Siege made me "I want that", the first time was Shockwave, I was lucky to get him relatively cheaply, so maybe I'll be lucky with this one as well). Oh well, I guess EU will be skipped once again anyways :). I wondner if these new accessories can be attached in "spaceship" modes, I see BBTS posted a photo of one of these with flash attached, it doesn't look bad :).
yeah, it's a little hard to justify the premium price for just repaints and extra accessories. yeah, i saw that pic as well. pretty cool. i'll probably just keep the set since i reckon it'll be very difficult to re-sell it over here. Kevin Liu actually did a review of this set a couple of days ahead of me. but his reviews are in Chinese
The price of jetfire is ment to be $80 where as this set is ment to be $70 usd. So not much more than buying 3 of the regular refraktor/reflector figures
Yeah, but factor in shipping and customs fees... Since this set is currently unavailable at Amazon, I'll use Fan-Vote Battle 3 Pack as an example - the same price ($69.99), three deluxes, shipping+customs for me is $34... I have ordered deluxe Refractor at online store in my country, I paid like $3-4 for shipping and, if I had ordered 3 in one order, order value would exceed ~$60 and I would be eligible for free shipping...
The foil/hologram effect that you talk about is called ‘iridescent.’ I just thought I’d tell you, not that I’m correcting you but rather giving you an alternative word.
Tough call, as both sets look equally great! For myself personally, I would go with the mainline retail versions for the cartoon accuracy. I am sure that it won't take long for third-party companies to replicate the exclusive set's extra accessories.
I hope to start doing reviews soon, but i am still busy with my mancave. My grandfather died in February (more like a father to me), grandma needs a lot of attention from her favourite grandchild ;) It has been really hot for the last months as well, so i still have stuff in many boxes. I also don't know if my camera still cuts it will have to test it out soon. =)
Was going to get 3 of the Mass Retail releases! Then I saw the Recon team 3 pack available after Comic-Con I pre-ordered it! But I still got 1 of the standard releases! Good review cant wait for mine to arrive!
I just bought the team pack but watching this makes me wanna get the separate ones too. I might just ask my boss to pay my wages directly to hasbro 🤦🏼♂️
I think the original G1 Reflector is better than these two. The G1 reflector have some weight to it because there chest were made out of metal and I also like that you could shoot the missiles out of the Flash and you can also look through the camera as if you were taking a picture. It also had a little bit of magnification but not much.
True, but it does not hold together very well anymore. I have had two and the can't hold the camera mode do to ageing, so it's cool to get something new.
Mine holds together good. But it wasn't played with much. I have all three cameras sitting on my display. The G1 orginal, the Hasbro reissue Reflector and the Siege WFC Refraktor.

I got one refraktor over a week ago. I'll settle for just one. I do the fan camera mode. I put the gun as the flash on the same side you have yours. I put the shield across on the back in camera mode. It covers the gap by doing so.
As soon as I saw the show colors, knew a easy repaint was coming. But wasn't thinking they'd add the accessories. Wish those came with store version as well. Was debating getting this set, may have to now.
I’m loving the repaints and I’m happy the extra accessories look good on the regular refraktor I hope some day they make extra accessories for them so far siege has been doing really good I really hope they keep making these figures it reminds me a lot of g1 and I kinda want siege action figures to have more characters on the way
They look like cell phones not space subs, honestly I’m just going to pop the accessory’s onto the original release, at least the camera top since the original cartoon had it
I already own animation cartoon colors right now. I'm ordering the toy colorz which you just reviewed sometime today cause i want too own both versions. Hasbro has been making really awesome Seige figures and i just can't say no. Though sometimes my wallet will say yes to stop at the moment I'm empty right now. So in all I'm loving what transformers is doing as it makes me feel like 1984-1986 again.
i feel you man. it's the same with Marvel Legends and Star Wars. hasbro seems to have figured out that if you give collectors the toys they wanted when they were kids, you'll sell a ton, instead of pushing toys you think collectors will buy. the customer is king is suppose and hasbro just figured it out this year LoL :-)
I'm all about the cartoon so I would want the cartoon accurate colours, but Kremzeek is from the cartoon and comes with the set, and I can get the set on sale right now so.... to heck with it. G1 was never too accurate with their own colours anyway.

$100 for the same trio with some different accessories? The camera accessories look good but that’s a majority of the cost for Omega. Everyone has a right to buy what they want and their preference, but I don’t really see how it’s worth it
I am thinking if I'll get this set or not but IF I do I think I'll use them as pre-accident/something Spectre Spyglass and Viewfinder(What accident/something? Storys I made with my Toys that are not important right now)
Also I just saw your Siege Bluestreak Review and did you know that Praxus the City in which Bluestreak(And in some Universes Prowl too) lived was destroyed by the Decepticons during the war? Bluestreak is a talker. He talks a lot. Any subject, any time of the day, his lips are flapping while his Autobot comrades are rolling their eyes. Could be about things on Earth, could be about things on Cybertron, could be about just about anything, but the point is, y'know, he's talking. Words are coming out of his mouth in a near constant prattling stream. Some think he's vapid, that his mouth just moves a billion times faster than his brain, if his brain is moving at all. Or they imagine that he's a fool who doesn't know when to shut up, that he drones on and on and on and on because maybe he just likes to hear himself speak or something. His friends realize, however, that his jabbering hides a deeper pain. At the beginning of the war, Bluestreak's home city(Praxus) was totally destroyed by Decepticons. He was the only survivor. It's as if by talking he tries to drown out his own fears and memories somehow. It's a great set, I picked mine up a few days ago at a local Toys R Us Canada location for $99 Canadian but it's on sale next week so I can get a price adjustment for the sale price.
@@teeveeparty I found it on the way to niagara falls, stopped off at the toys r us Canada in st catherines. they had 2 in the back room< looks like they're not really putting them on the floor, its either at customer service or in the back most times.
beyondthegravemind yes in the US that’s the correct price. in the video i said out here in Manila Philippines, this set will cost you usd$90 to $100 on retail and hobby shops. much higher if we order from amazon because shipping to the Philippines from the US. is so damn expensive. you know how i got to that price? i live in Manila, Philippines and that’s the amount of cash i paid the store for this.
Four new accessories counting Krimzeek, and a new paint job some how makes the same figure $40 more expensive? I don't think so. Those extra parts are only worth about $9 and that's being generous. The fact that they now have tree unique color schemes rather than all being the same that could maybe up the cost a bit more but not $40 more. Plus honestly the entire way these figures were released feels like a scam. The original release requires you to buy 3 of the exact same figure to form the camera mode. Then they release another version with extra accessories that I feel are needed to really complete the camera mode. I personally prefer the cartoon colors because that's how I knew them as a kid. I never saw the toy till I was an adult so I don't really have much of an attachment to that version. The colors are quite good and gives them each a unique look which I like but the cartoon accurate version is my Reflector. That said the the camera looks incomplete without those extra parts and I would like to use them just to make the robot modes look a little bit different from each other. I can't justify spending almost $160 for my ideal Reflector though. I could try to make back some of that money by selling the toy colored version without the extra parts but who would want that? Honestly I'm not willing to spend more than $50 on plastic so I'm kinda getting worn out on collecting just because the prices have gotten way to damn high. (Old man voice) Back in my day I could of gotten an entire set like this for $15.
Hasbro has to make a box set, at a premium price to get "extras" that are supposed to be part of the alt mode in the first place. And that come as standard with pretty much every other Reflector lot out there (eg 3P). Not impressed. Sure they look nice, but give us the parts with the normal figures for $%%$ sake.
