I literally just pre-ordered the box set over at Hasbro Pulse. I passed on the pre-order of the single figures because I knew the repaint was on the way. I had them as a kid and I really wanted the figures in G1 colors. I've watched this review several times and I can't wait to have them in hand.
Suggestion: The other two round shutter pieces can be used in camera mode. One can stay in place behind the lens. The other one can go on top of the camera, in the neck joint of one of the side Reflector bots, to use as the actual shutter button. Looks awesome and helps break up the camera mode top a bit.

No wave 3 in my town yet. My stores are really bad at stocking up, I've seen one Walmart have the same stuff for about 6 months. Pretty sad, but nice review!
whoa! really? same thing with Philippine retail lately. the local hasbro importer/distributor has been pumping the market with clearance stuff they got from other hasbro offices in Asia. we have to resort to hobby shops for the latest stuff. thanks, man. i really appreciate it :-)
I finally got them yesterday i love how they look i been playing with them the whole i want the new set saw your other review you did of them they look great too but i like how this set looks with them other parts
Summer time review light gnats! I hate them. They been flying in through me window from the AC unit. I didn't think I would be able to afford three of these guys so I only ordered one to learn later that it wouldn't be the case that I couldn't afford them....*Regret*
I love the look of these, but if Im gonna shell out leader/commander price for a full set I expect more from them. I’ll just stick with my Papa Toys version.
There's actually a ViewFinder, Spectro and a SpyGlass version of these guys out there but I don't need it as I own the original G1 Reflector as well. It was a painful purchase I have to say but I love that version alot though..There have been quite alot of 3rd variants of this trio squad but I never really went for it as I was assured that Hasbro would give us an official version. Now there's word that if you buy even more Refraktors, you can combine him(s) into a even bigger bot?!! There's almost unlimited potential in this guy(s) but because of that there's a even more of a mad rush to get these for his fan combiner mode!! Brilliant!!!
It's a nice figure... but I wish it had a flash piece and shutter button piece like the G1 version came with. I bought the three pack from BigBadToyStore and it comes with the flash and all the extra parts. It's about $75 for the set.
I have them in my pile of loot am just waiting for my Jetfire and Springer to arrive so i could send for them i can't wait for that he looks awesome and the camera mode looks good
Very good review, as usual :). To be honest, I don't find spaceship mode convincing. Soundwave (in my opinion) barely passed as the spaceship but this... It feels like someone just folded robot into plank and said "Look, it's a spaceship!". I wish these were legend class sized and sold in three-packs, but I get it, "Anything worth selling is worth selling thrice". Maybe I'll buy one but three are very unlikely. I think that click on the waist is locking mechanism similar to one on Ironhide - rounded peg and peg hole - rather than ratchet (i had to disassemble my Ironhide because it locked too well, I thought it's glued or something). BTW, it's a sad day today, I've noticed that hinge on my CW Cyclonus (the one just above crotch, which allows combined mode had to swing out of Cyclonus' belly) developed nasty crack (to be exact, it seems that stress mark turned into crack because after stress mark developed there, I've stopped transforming him into torso mode). Gotta find a replacement asap.
The circle lens thing on him only one of them makes him leader because is the middle part of the camera mode and the others two without the circle lens looks like they serve him .
For me the individual vehicle mode is more like a spy satelite and when they combine in a camera they become a superensing device able to look and analyze things miles away, something that fits Refraktor role as spy and information gatherer. Check at TonTon Review's channel, he made a video full of fan modes for the Refraktor trio, their ability to combine themselves in so many different ways make it worth to buy the same figure three times.
I picked up 3 today at Walmart. I don't collect mainline anymore, but it's cheaper than 3rd party so I made an exception. I never had the g1 toy. The Siege line doesn't really interest me that much.
Yeah it's a lot harder then you think to actually find three of them unless you're there when they open the case. I've only managed to get my my hands on two
i made a mistake. the regular case i believe only has 2 per case. so you'll have to go to another store to get the third one. my bad. but best of luck hunting that third one :-)
@@chefatron The numbers I heard have 3 per case. I think someone got three at one store to make the camera and maybe picked up the 1 to display in robot mode maybe. The rest of the figures there lined up with a full case minus 1
Nice review, and I have to say you are dedicated to pick up three! If HasTak puts out a gift set with extra parts, as the rumors are saying, you going to pick it up? Btw, you missed a step on the "ship" mode
Found 2 at 1 store decided to skip and then found 1 at another. I decided to buy and went back to the first store but the 2 were gone. And I’m stuck with one. And it doesn’t make sense to review only 1 figure. Must have 3!
Sucks that they don't have the camera flash module. Meanwhile, one of the ab pieces could go on top to make the shutter button. I hear that Hasbro is planning a box set with all three, in G1 toy colors. Won't matter if the camera is exactly like this without the flash module - they could make it a weapon, too!! (And nope, there's only two of the regular Refraktor per case, which is even dumber) As it is, while it's cool, I would just get either the Mech Fans Toys or Papa Toys oversized KOs of that old PerfectEffect "Scouting Force X" Reflector and have all three for a lot less than the sixty bucks Hasbro wants you to drop for their half-assed camera. (Mech Fans Toys "Camera Brothers" goes from $30-$40, Papa Toys "Camera" goes for like $38-$45.)

I hope toyhax makes labels for the 3 of them to make them different from each other and hopefully they do it in one set and don't sell you 3 different sets
There are rumors that Hasbro will do some sort of limited release of a 3-pack styled like the G1 toys. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Toyhax does both an individual sticker set and a G-1 styled set for all 3, that gets released later.... for a hefty fee... but it will still be worth it.
@@chefatron it's just a fan mode, but it's possible to peg the extra refraktors to the sides of a central refraktor. the result looks a bit more like a proper space battleship.
I have the pe 12 version and I showed a relative which is better the version? the one that I have or the new hasbro version shown on a pic? And the answer was the pe 12 version. Especially the camera mode. Saying that it is more realistic. And that the newer hasbro version was ugly. That was the answer I got.
Even though I want to get it anyway. Wish it came with the other two accessories of the camera. Like that little box thing in the middle of the camera along with the flash. Which my relative also said it looked plain and less realistic without.
Just take the camera lens piece off 2 of their fronts and put them in the screw hole on their butts. Fits perfect and is out in the way. Lets you keep that G1-ness and keeps from being identical triplets without leaving parts off to the side. :thumbsup:
