That voice intro by Stan Bush is pure epicness!! I will never forget the song "On My Own" from one of my favorite movies of all time "Bloodsport". People who were born in the 80's will probably remember that movie.
Yay I actually got notified about this and the cycolonus review Jazz is awesome because he does things with style or doesn’t bother doing them at all 😎
Now that is one coool looking Jazz! They did an awesome job for this new version, I also have the Special Ops Jazz, still a cool figure, but this new one is outstanding! Can't get much better than that, what a great figure in all of his modes! Now that was a review made with style, Paul!
I really love this action figure, his robot mode is awesome 👍😎 but one accessory Hasbro forgot to add was his speakers which he often used in the G1 show
I have the Transformers United Jazz (same as the Reveal the Shield only with a slightly more accurate paint job) and he's great but he's just a little too tall for the WFC series. I pre-ordered the Studio Series '86 as soon as he was available, and am glad to see he scales beautifully with the rest of his '84 Car-Bot buddies! Great review Optibotimus, and--as always--reat theme song!
Hasbro has been knocking it out of the park with the transformers from Siege to Legacy .... Even the packaging box art to diorama cardboard inserts look fantastic!! 👍 Well done Hasbro.
I already love this Jazz figure so much! I mean, it looks so much like his cartoon appearance in the 1986 film. Although that number 14 really bugs me. Otherwise, great review, Optibotimus! Keep up the great work!
The thing about the door wings is he didn’t have them in the cartoon. I used to have the G1 toy, so I’m used to seeing Jazz with the door wings, but I actually went back and noticed that Jazz in the cartoon and movie didn’t have them. Also, Prowl didn’t have the shoulder cannons, which is why his Siege and Earthrise figures don’t have them. So, being the Studio Series, they’re going more for animation accuracy than toy accuracy, which is cool. That said, I don’t care that they just released Earthrise and Masterpiece versions. I want a SS86 Arcee.
I'm not gonna lie, people have expensive hobbies or habits like smoking, golf, pub drinking, snooker/pool clubs, etc. I started doing a collection for transformers and I finally kicked myself because of you. Thanks @optibotimus for kickstarting my new hobby
@optibotimus one or 2 other things I forgot to tell you, 1 is that I'm a long time viewer from Ireland, 21 now and a question if you have the time? What made you want to be a toy reviewer and what advice would you give to someone who would want to do it?
Love your video. Sometimes there are pics in the instructions that are a little confusing. Videos like this helps make sure that I don’t accidentally break the figure lol
Yea Hasbro has been really nailing it with the Studio Series 86 line. I'm hoping for more. I hear that we are getting all the dinobots in SS 86 line. Any truth to that? Great video!
It's not speculation.....there is in fact a very famous Porsche 935. The #4 Martini sponsored Porsche 935-76 was driven by Jochen Mass and Jacky Ickx in Group 5. The livery for that car was the basis for Jazz's colorful exterior, just like the Ligier JS11 that Mirage was based on and Lancia Stratos of Wheeljack had the real liveries....the only difference is the Ligier F1 car was sponsored by French cigarette company Gitanes, so they changed the logo on Mirage to read "Citanes"
Thanks for the great review. I was concerned that he would be smaller than the WFC deluxe class figures (Amazon lists him, Kup and Blurr as only 4.5 inches). Glad that it's not true. Will definitely pick him up.
Now I do have some problems with the figure. The hollow bits, the non articulated wrists, and the easily to unpeg knees which in my opinion does not even accidentally serve as a knee because of how unsightly it is, aslo the figure in hands feels very much like a prime wars figure for how light and cheap he feels
I'm still waiting on jazz to be available. This one looks bad azz. I'm lucky enough to live within 15 miles of 13 Target stores. But I still have a hard time finding figures.
Judging by his small size & the style, he basically looks like all the rest of the modern Masterpiece Autobots. The only difference is he doesn't come with multiple heads/faces & doesn't cost $300.
The issue with the doors is negligible as the Studio series is how they looked on the (cinema) screen, that being said it doesn't answer why the number is now wrong for him lol
"Finally, remember, that the real trouble in the world is that too many people grow up." I don't think I agree with this statement considering what happens if a person doesn't grow up... heheh. Good review still :)
