Grade five bolts are considered chassis bolts. That's really all you need. That's a heck of a project. Just finished my 5.3 4l60e swap into an 87 cherokee. Used some of your advice and recommend your channel to a lot of people looking for info.
JR ,looks good ,thumbs up to MRS engineer for the input . and i thought changing the dash ,and rebuilding the HVAC system on my 99 chevy 2500 crew cab was a pain in the ass .IT IS ,Lol keep up the good work ,happy trails .
What you got is a f450 f5550 cab chassis commercial frame. they're 34 inch wide. Maybe you be better off with a pick up frame they"re 37" wide behind front wheels .Or maybe your building. rollback or something?
This just confirms my ideas. I want to swap a 08-13 Silverado body on a Duramax topkick frame. I figure I'm moving mounts. But I also had similar ideas to your rear mounts. I can swap my transmission in my 2500hd for the 3rd time (350k miles on the 6.0) or body swap a Kodiak/topkick (they usually rust out bad here) for a couple thousand more.
@TheDrivewayEngineer I have an 08 short bed that I was going to pull the axles off of for a obs long bed that I wanted to shorten the frame on anyways. Now I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do this. Thanks for the info. I've never uploaded any content but my obs body is a 4 door so I'll try to video it and showcase any differences.
