I put those speakers in a few months ago and they do sound very good. I also put in the amp they offer since I had the "hi-fi" mid-spec system and didn't have to deal with the MOST bus...that made a huge difference, well beyond what even the speakers offered with the factory amp.
I can't believe you made the investment in your car. My first new car I bought in 1979 Ford Thunderbird last of large cars. Came with eight track player. Saved up for six months to put in pioneer super tuner, with booster and equalizer, tweets on dash, JBL TRI AXIL IN BACK. 600 BUCKS WAS ALOT IN 1979 YOURS LOOKS AND SOUNDS GREAT. I've had 2 of the 78 and 2 of the 79 Thunderbirds. They are still my favorite cats to drive. I even know how to make them match an 89 Honda Civic for highway fuel consumption. With the optional large capacity gas tank, the range comes out to roughly 1350 miles on a single fill. LoL. Been there, done that. The nicest sound system I've ever heard in a car was the JBL High Level Sound Package in my 89 Grand Marquis. That system in a 79 T-Bird is magic. I miss my old boats. The Volvo 240 is a bit small. I see a 78 Grand Marquis in my future.
@@michaeltutty1540 . I can't agree with you more. Worked 2 years as lifeguard and pool maintenance for ten bucks an hour and saved 7000 bucks. Me stepfather loaned me the other 3 k so I could buy it. Friends of the family owned the Chevy, olds, Pontiac store in my home town 5000 people in north Mississippi. The two door olds cutlass was beautiful. My best friend bought that, I fell in love with the t-bird gold with buckskin interior wire wheels. My wife think it looks like a gang car. Why did you buy so many ford's. Thanks for your story. There is some great people on you tube. Guess what I have?, Great story too. 1969 AMC AMX XCODE, GO PACK, 390 With every available options. 450 HP WEIGHS 3100 POUNDS. IT'S IN MY GARAGE. I love the red interior, Seems like BMW is the only maker left that does it thats not in the supercar category, i miss back in the day when interiors matched or accented the exteriors, seems today most are beige black or gray and boring as #^#^
Clever speaker design. I prefer silk dome tweeters to metal domed tweeters. Silk ones sound smoother to me. Nice that everything (pretty much) is T20 with a few Phillips head thrown in to make sure you have to buy multiple Milwaukee drivers.
true that silk domes tends to sounds soft but that makes them lack of transient response. Al dome can have audible harsh cone breakups if not carefully designed
Really interesting, Jake. A sound system makes all the difference. Eventually that will get done to the old Volvo. Have to do a bunch of custom work. The factory Clarion Crap, regardless of package, is not worth twopence Ha'penny.
I looked on their site but apparently my e36 convertible is too high end for skills set. When it comes time to video the system working, use classical music to avoid the copyright curse on RU-vid. Beethoven is erasing all of his old music scores. I heard he is decomposing.
@@brycemeng yes, the entire speaker *is* a motor, but does the speaker have one (or more) motor(s) "in" it? a sub-section of the speaker that you could point to and say "there's the motor" right there?
@@derekgardin1512 ok, thanks. I will have to look into it some more so I can avoid looking uninformed (on this topic anyway, lol) in the future. I tried to use a different word and it blocked my reply. even though I was talking about me and the word starts "igno" and ends "rant"
I stopped you because I've seen it before and now I can only guess how the video ended. I'll assume chickens and or the smashing of an IBM product was involved.
Not to pry into your private life but you had addressed the issue of your marriage in a past video. Are y’all getting back together or is she just kinda hanging around?
