@@cvspvr so I care about it but I like bright fun colours and exposed wood. My wife cares massively and likes painted wood and dull muted tones. Obviously the whole house is done to her taste and she got the final say in everything but I got some amazing exposed wooded detailing in our extention and bright yellow island unit that ties in with the gola rails in an otherwise very off white kitchen. The house looks amazing but if I had my way we would have pokodot rooms, illuminous rainbow stairs etc and it would be even more amazing. Most men don't care because it isn't worth the agro of an unhappy wife who hates your interior.

A lot of guys don't care what their house looks like and sometimes just trash it and its kinda sad. I'm currently renting an apartment and the the previous renter who I found out was an older man had no love for the house and there was cracks everywhere, but with a little crack filler and paint I made the place look like new again.

It looks so great Evan! Love to see someone being intentional about their space & doing the research to get it right. Tip for the crispest paint lines - after you put tape down paint over it with the background colour instead of going straight in with the foreground, the background colour will seal the tape in so none of the foreground sneaks under it, and you get a super sharp line when you pull it off. Looking forward to more DIY / interiors content!

Well look at these dungarees! HUGE kudos to you and Bliss for painting the green wall without any tape at the beginning. 😲 I've painted so many flats in my life (one time a giant ceiling - worst) but I never sanded the walls. The result is so dang nice and what a difference to your old rooms. ☺

Love the colour scheme and you did a great job….. My own personal OCD would mean having to move the bed a inch or two away from the window, so that it was lined up with the batting and would mean the framed picture would be better spaced out with the batting…

@@evan totally get the need for more space for your closets and entering the room, I’m not saying place the bed in the center of the wall, just move it 1 or 2 inches away from the window. This would line up the sides of the headboard to the battens, then the two outside photos would have battens either side of them and the central photo would have a batten going down the middle. Making it more pleasing to the eye and only 1 to 2 inches of space lost on the closet side…. It’s my OCD lol

Looks great. I would say, one thing I learned when taping and painting, use a very wide tape on the ceiling and corners to other paint colors.

I have that new building paint that was sprayed on and I took off part of it with a pillow. Not the zipper or the button or anything like that, just a soft pillow. I so want to paint everything but my body doesn't agree with that plan.

I am so enjoying watching a man who researches what he has to do and tries to follow the instructions i come from a family where the ethos was well just throw the paint on . This was passed on from father to son , and when paint developed [especially Gloss paints] they could not understand why the finish was off.

I’ve just redecorated my living room (dark blue / white) and remodelled my bathroom (which I’ve painted the most obnoxious shade of pink and white). Frog tape is your friend! My lines are CRISPY. Well done, Evan.. love the celadon green, what a lovely colour!

tips i've learnt the hard way - wet tape or painting the base colour (cream) over the seam gives a much smoother line, and the mdf might drink up the paint over time so another coat might be needed but can be avoided with primer. looks really fab you should both be very proud!!

I really hate the mess rollers create. I use paint pads, as then it is less mess. Well done tho, going from a non-diyer to a total diyer!! I can see you getting into crafting diy next.. can't wait to see what you do with the rest of it!

Evan…command strips don’t rip off paint if you remove them correctly. You don’t rip it off. Pull down the tab slowly and the sticky part slowly releases from the wall. If you rip it straight off and up, yeah, it’ll damage the wall.

Wet fingers needs to have a tiny drop of washing up liquid mixed in to avoid drag. Also, some people use the curved corner of a credit card.

Tape is hardly perfect either. I inevitably end up with an air gap somewhere that paint sneaks into. I just live with the less than perfect result, though. When your house has been repainted many times over decades, it's not going to have that factory-finish look anymore.

Hi Evan, not sure if you can complain to RU-vid about the ads on your videos but there was one on this video for me which was 17 minutes and 38 seconds long. I normally sit through the ads to ensure creators get any extra revenue but a 17+ minute ad is absolutely excessive and if it were me I’d be mad at losing revenue because the ads displayed on my videos were unreasonably long for my viewers to sit through. Will let the video play in the background with the ads running to make up for skipping that one for you. Loving the DIY, the work you’re doing looks great.

You should cover all your electronics before sanding. I have lost a printer and possibly one of my monitors exactly that way. BTW I am 6'4"and you seem to be even taller than I am. Are you?
