Automatic Transmission Fluid Change Easy And Quick: it is a quick guide on how to change your automatic transmission oil at home. You don’t really need special tool, all you need is a ratchet, funnel, and a drain pan. My car is Acura TL 2003, depending on your car model and year you might have to unscrew different type of bolt at the bottom of your car to release the used transmission oil. Refer owner’s manual for your transmission fluid replacement schedule.

Honda ATF fluid is a junk blend oil with next to no protection additives (boron, phosphorus, zinc...). The only guarantee you get is... transmission failure from high heat! Go ahead Google this for quick filler : "Honda ATF MaxLife"

Stole your idea and used a plastic ball point pen body and some electrical tape for mine. I ended up needing for the actual fill hole, but it would work for the dipstick tube as well. Nice work and great video!

Hondas atf fluid is horrible. Better to use like a maxlife that has the rating for Honda or Acura then to use Honda fluid.

There is a bolt on top of the transmission where you fill. Not the dipstick tube.

If your TL doesn’t have the upgrade cooler line mine does you have to take off a bolt and hose just to get to the fill bolt doing his method is easier if you got the added line they recalled and added the trans line where the fill bolt is

Car parked on level surface with engine running, let the engine warn up before you check. I would check your owners manual if you've one.

What year is your TL? I have a 2003 TL Type S and it only takes 3 qts. I over filled it once and it shifted like crap. Check engine light came on, shift indicator blinked etc...

I have a reg 03 Acura TL 3.2 and it's been in limp mode blinking D5 and my level is extremely high. I'll change my fluid tomorrow. Thanks for advise!!!

Recommended oil type Atf dw1/z1. eBay has them in bundles. I use to do the transmission fluid change like this till I found out about the actual bolt , way easier now. Good idea with the sharpie tho

Where is the filter located and was the filter changed during this service?

The filter was not changed, I believe it's located on the right side of the engine (facing the engine).

Cheap ratchet head get a better ratchet and use a breaker bar to help crack it loose if you really need to spray a lil bit of wd40/penetrating oil on the drain bolts crack/washer and then try

Give it a good hit with a hammer to loosen it and wouldn’t recommend wd40 unless that’s your last resort. And get a wrench along with a pipe and try to pry it loose like that

The auto parts place told me 5 to 7 qts I put 5 qts

Did you pour the transmission fluid in where the dipstick goes? Or did you remove the bolt to pour it in?

Poured it where the dipstick goes, didn't remove the bolt. I used a pen, anything that connects the funnel to the hole should work.

@@EPICFIXwithNardos so I have the 02 RSX base model joint. I did a trans fluid change yesterday, I put 3 courts back in and poured it in where the dipstick goes for the trans... Is that ok to do?
