Libs of TikTok began as an anonymous troll account. Now it’s one of the most influential political forces in America - with the LGBTQ community firmly in their crosshairs.
Unmasked by a Washington Post investigation, Libs of TikTok is run by a former real-estate agent, Chaya Raichik, who has become the darling of the American right.
Her strategy is to repost footage from literal “libs of tik tok”, (namely LGBTQ people and their allies), and share it with her audience. Often framing it as a giant threatening movement that is “coming for your kids''. However, initial research shows that one in four accounts featured on her page will go on to experience real or online harassment.
But this online fear mongering is not happening in a vacuum. In the Statesm Anti-LGBTQ violence is at an all time high and it is being driven by the “groomer conspiracy”. A baseless claim that the LGBTQ community is indoctrinating, sexualizing and/or grooming children.
Now a whole ecosystem of right-wing influencers have sprung up to propagate this conspiracy. And they are having a direct influence on governors, legislation and violent extremists.

Except for the fact that A) LGBTQ is not in any way a homogenic "group" but basically just an umbrella term for anyone non-heterosexual. There was never and is not a homogenic "community", nor do LGBTQ-Activists agree with each other on everything. It is an extremely diverse structure. B) for about 99% of us, the only thing we "want for children" is that they don't have to go through the homophobic/transphobic sh*t that a lot of us had to go through and frankly quite a few could not bear. Yes, it is easier today to be an openly gay dude in the western world, but a lot of people still grow up in religiously zealous, violent or ultra-conservative households who day-in-day-out make it clear to them, that their very existence is a disgusting abomination or "not normal". The only thing that I personally want for children is to know from as early as possible that they are NORMAL, no matter whom they love, how they see themselves or what colour they like.

Christianity in this country is attacked enormously by the LGBTQ+ activists, they want to get rid of religions, not preventing homophobia and that'a a major problem why parents fight back. Tell me from the logical reason, people can believe whatever they want, but they don't know whether God exist or not and if he exist and that's a possibilty, every activist who indoctrinates children with the homsexuality prevents them from going to heaven. They do the same harm to children, they make them look at religion that it's something bad or harmful, that's how it creates religiophobia between chidlren. The other thing is gender indoctrination, woke parents make their children a lot of harm, even more than conservative parent by telling them they can be gender whatever they want. Then they brainwash their children and make them trans surgery. What do you think how ten years old can be responsible for making such decision? When I was ten years old I wanted to be a Jedi Master, should my mom throw me out of the window to test if I can survive with no injuries long fall? I mean even if that would be a possibility. These indoctrinated trans children will hate their parents in future for making them infertile, and gender they don't even want longer. So may I ask you a question? Why are you defending it? Don't you think parents should have raise their children as they want without any further brainwashing?

Everything on your screen is curated by algorithms, set by software engineers that "go fast and break things," before realizing the consequences of those actions, and failing to recognize who readily and willingly exploits that system for political and cultural warfare. Community and grassroots organizing still exists in this sphere, but it's skewed due to the access we have to anonymity. Allowing political campaigns and third parties access to your data, as well as companies to see your spending habits and online engagement, has warped the way we see and use the internet overall, dragging people into their silos and affirming whatever thoughts creep into their minds. Social media can be a better tool if we decide collectively to regulate the services, break up tech conglomerates, and include more nuanced and faceted discussion in online forums.

All this hostility towards the LGBTQ community never made sense to me. I learned in my anthropology class that humans have been doing same sex activity since before we walked upright. Due to this, it has been a part of our nature as a species literally since the very beginning and to claim it's not natural is complete and total nonsense. Like it or not, we live in an increasingly diverse world and that diversity is inevitably growing in scale and complexity. I can think of 2 teachers I personally encountered who were groomers when I was in school. When I was in grade 7, the gym teacher wrote a list of all the girls he thought were hot and during gym he was showing the girls... groomer behavior. Someone eventually told on him and he was fired. The second one was my spanish teacher in high-school, she groomed a boy who was in grade 11, she would hang out by his locker, we saw them hanging out at a local coffee shop after school. And apparently they had sex. She wasnt fired (female privilege) but she got called down to the office and got a talking to, but ALL the students observed her behavior. These are just two that were blatantly obvious to me as a kid, there was probably others I didn't notice

I don’t think you understand what “grooming “ means. Might want to start with the definition of that word. Unless, it was a “Christian sex cult” where they indoctrinated kids and encouraged them to have sex with as many people, including adults as possible or did they “ groom” kids to be responsible about sex and wait till adulthood/ marriage? Because one of those examples is def. Not “grooming”.
