Really? Cant say I Like the brick finish or the dull grey personally. I also have Something of a gripe with this Station because they didnt build an entrance for the other side of Pacific Hwy so I guess I am predestined to find it bad lol

It’s unfortunate that a pedestrian link connecting the station to the other side of the highway couldn’t be built due to a few reasons making it not viable at the time. There still may be opportunity in the future so we will have to wait and see what happens

@@transportforsydneyvlogs7258 a better outcome than a new entrance would be to take 2 lanes off the entire Pacific Highway and replace them with trees and wider footpaths since you can now Terminate more buses at the Metro Stations and Tell selfish drivers to get the train.

Thank you! Yeh unfortunately some of the RU-vid greats were away on this occasion, but there were still other greats in attendance which was good. Regardless of whether it’s a hit or not, hope this one provides a decent virtual tour to the eyes of many :)

Glad you liked it as always :) To your point, it’s not as big and spacious as stations like Victoria Cross and Martin Place, and that’s probably reflecting the general expectation that crows nest won’t be as busy as some of the other stations. I don’t mind the brick theme although I personally feel like it makes the station look less modern and slightly more washed out from the exterior. I think Crows Nest still has the same platform width of 10m as Waterloo and Barangaroo do to name a few, and I reckon congestion would be more of a concern at Barangaroo which will only have the one entrance for another while. Hopefully it won’t be too bad when the line opens, especially in the beginning when close to everyone on town will wanna go for that first ride

@transportforsydneyvlogs7258 I can see many avoiding St Leonards station to get a more direct service to the city and beyond without needing to change trains. I have only seen the other stations on video, so I will probably have a different view once they all open, and I can see them in person.

I spoke to the staff at the event, and they explained that because they don't own the buildings over the road, they could only hope to do the link (which was planned for) if they had somewhere for it to emerge on the other side. The owners of those buildings didn't engage within the time allowable, so it wasn't possible to build. They did leave some provision for future connections, though. Given the poor reception by many locals, I'm not too surprised. There are a lot of residents who didn't want to see any new development on the site beyond the low rise that had originally been there, and they're still fighting the proposal for housing. That's the North Shore for you!

Thank you for sharing this info! Yes, this makes sense as to why an underground pedestrian link to the other side of Pacific Highway was not built during construction. Would certainly prove convenient and handy for people coming from the other side, and would reduce for traffic across the highway as Daniel mentioned. Never so easy when there are existing land owners and residents in opposition of any development that may increase traffic through the area by the slightest

Yes, I knew it was the 5th anniversary of Sydney Metro opening. Completely forgot to mention it when I was filming this 😞

No date has been officially announced yet, but it definitely won’t be before mid July as the notice period must be at least 6wks

It opens in less than 2 months anyway then youll have as much time as you want to explore it, with lots of trains running all day

For the open days, yes you need to register for a ticket, which is free of charge
