DC MERRETT in Saul, Gloucester. Used to love delivering CPC training to those drivers a few years ago. They all knew far more than I did, a true team all of them ❤️
Awesome video. It’s always nice to be able to add to my store of “Useless Information”. Useless, that is, until it isn’t. Thank you! And learning even more from the comments
Interesting to see the equipment used in the UK to move this sort of stuff. Different to that used in North America and better in a couple of obvious ways. Thanks for the video.
Ooooh me ooooh my...... the best transportation video I've seen in a long time!!! Pity trailer ain't blue though 😁 best trailer setup too.... not a mile lone like the yanks 😜😂
Its an 8x4 in a so-called 'triple' configuration.. (basically a standard 6x4 tractor-unit with an additional [front]steering-axle mounted in front of the 2 rears, liftable, and on air suspension all-round..) ... 👌🏻👌🏻
I like the way they use those dunnage blocks for support on the trailer, I imagine they help keep it from moving, as well. I've never seen that before in the U.S. By the way that trailer with the steering axles is cheating!.
Oh wow, I was about to comment about how sketchy it looked when basically none of the weight of the machine was actually on the trailer deck rather than the timbers on the sides, when the whole "lift the digger up using the boom so that blocks can be put under it" happened. So in the end the machine's weight is transferred through the wooden blocks into the deck... and then the boom is used to make sure the machine can't move anywhere sideways. Interesting solutions all around.
It’s definitely a bit unnerving that the area of tracks making contact with the trailer on either side is about 5 inches or so and the other foot and a half is hanging over the edge. 😳certainly hope the binders stay secure!!! Definitely some serious equipment for hauling though. Don’t see those here in Gloucester Massachusetts much lol 😂 those guys are good 👍
Video NOT complete, I miss the connecting the bucket and miss the connecting the front part of the low-loader at the beginning of the video ! Such a shame about this otherwise nice video
How y’all get away with not taking the boom and counterweight off???? We got a 600 and we can NOT haul it assembled!!!! And we have a tri-axle Pete with a quad axle drop deck 🤔 cool trailer👍👍
Komatsu is good machine but caterpillar excavator has reinforced boom and dipper the caterpillar dozer built after the international TD series but cat looked at what could be upgraded like the final drive getting it out of the rock and sprocket teeth from wear and tear hight track getting final drive out of mud and a bit easier to fix if throwing a track in bad conditions not waist deep in mud getting the track itself back on the drive sprocket I'd go with Caterpillar but Caterpillar is pretty experienced the elucid machines international Ford backhoes link belt all had some flaws or kinks that was later looked at to see what could fix them like the International TD later became the Caterpillar D models
Didnt like the way the bucket moved when he hit the dolly into the bed of the trailer. Wouldnt it have been better to use a beam rather than a full size trailer with outriggers?
@@jaquigreenlees I pulled heavy haul beam trailers for 20 yrs, There is a beam trailer that can handle the weight. a13 axle trailer can do it. 66.11 metric ton equals 145,767 pounds. The beam trailer saves weight because the floor is eliminated. That savings equals more payload.
We only use beam trailer's here in the UK for loads that will be over hight, most normal machines like the 700 will just go on the normal deck, quicker to load and not as much messing about, plus running a normal deck he's ready for whatever load he's doing. We can at over 16 foot tall without any special permits or permissions. Weight saving isnt a problem, neither is overall weight, as long as axle weights are correct, that's what they get us for over here.
@@yorkshirerich2970 I'd be very interested to know where in the UK exceeding a vehicle's overall weight limit would not be a problem. Or any other country for that matter.
What I meant Paul was for heavy stuff we run under STGO rules 1=50 000kg 2=80 000 kg 3= 150 000 kg. That's why gross isn't as I said as critical. If running under C&U regulations at 44 000kg obviously gross weight is more of an issue. So going back to my previous post we used to move a 30 000kg excavator, which at STGO 1 was about 1500kg within the gross weight limit, but load it wrong you were still legal gross wise, but axles could be overloaded. The D8 with blade and ripper was over weight for STGO 3 so was moved on STGO 2 still well within the limits, but again could end up with axle overload. Yes like you say gross does matter obviously but when running STGO 1 and 2 99% of the time gross weight wasn't a problem, because we had capacity upto 80 000kg. So yes gross weight does matter but you are far more likely to get caught with axle overload, than exceeding the gross.
All this messing about to move a 75 ton, machine, unbelievable, hope it's only for cameras, I personally wouldn't hire them, to slow, that machine has kept working.

That’s some rig. Size of the hubs on the lorry, and that trailer is the dogs. What’s the gross weight and the carrying capacity? Were the blocks to distribute the weight better? Thanks guys 👍
You're right! This Scania has a 16 litre V8, with a power of 730 hp. At 0:50 you can see the model number "S 730" (which tells the power) on the right side of the truck and the V8 emblem on the left side.

@@skodadriver5533 I know, it's a principle for many other manufacturers too, but that's not the exact weight of the machine. I took the numbers from the manufacturer's data sheet.

I’m from Indiana down here in what is ( currently hell ) lol!! Good ol USA and I commented the same thing!! We have a 600 komatsu and we can leave the tracks on, but the counter weight, boom, stick, bucket, etc... have got to go on a separate truck. We have a tri axle Pete and a quad axle drop deck still gotta break it down!! They definitely got some different laws!!
