Still think I'm going to catch this tomorrow for Josh Hartnett alone.

Totally understand why you’re very mixed on that third act! I actually had a good bit of fun with this movie, and thought it was a pretty entertaining yet messy little cat and mouse flick. Definitely loses some steam toward the end and the conclusion is a bit undercooked, but as someone that hasn't vibed with M. Night Shyamalan for a while I was surprised that it worked for me. Great review, dude!

Ye, same. I enjoyed the movie too. I think what worked with this movie is because it's a different approach to a serial killer, it's the fresh idea, unlike most movies nowadays. It's the same reason I like to watch A24 films, even though many people still think their movies aren't too great or too weird, there are still people that love their movies and always do something courageously creative. Shyamalan fit in that category and why his movies are still profitable despite the bomb reviews. He isn't afraid to make movies that aren't the norm or Hollyood wants. And I hope he always stay to his vision no matter what.

M Night has provided me with the 2 most frustrating movie theaters experiences of my life with this and Trap. Once the singer is trapped in the bathroom, I wanted to walk out. Also cops using tasers instead of guns? Lol

Really wanted to love the film. Trailer looked great, M. night is always super creative, I Walked out of the film last night slightly disappointed. Excellent premise/concept, but just horribly executed. From the start, the film should’ve been a fast-paced, hour and 15ish min film where the entire story revolves around him just trying to escape while still being the best dad he can. Don’t need to include the rest of his family, his childhood backstory, etc. Keep the plot simple with Riley being that emotional center of the film. The film kinda wants you to root for him because of that emotional connection with his daughter, in spite of his crimes. Film could’ve been great - wasted potential sadly. Good video though you earned a sub

Shyamalan is not a good writer. He never has been a good writer. He struggles particularly with dialogue. His characters never seem like real people, and it baffles me that the industry keeps rewarding him for it.

That means absolutely nothing. There are best selling novelists who people say can't write. Musicians who can't sing. Actors who can't act. It's not saying anything other than they're succeeding and you're not.

@@79dmcjr What's your point? He's succeeding and he's also a bad writer. Did you think that the two were somehow mutually exclusive? You offered no insight with this comment other than to say that there are people out there who are bad at what they do yet they succeed anyway. Yes, exactly. You merely repeated what I said. The only difference is you seem to be upset with me about it.🤷🏻‍♂
