There is a person who has made a copy of my voters ID card with a different picture and ID number. To delete that I had to run from pillar to post for 3 months. Despite that the BBMP officials has still not deleted the fraudulent voter ID card. I have given up trying now. The people working in these departments would not even be allowed by the devil to enter hell given how lazy they are.

I remember in 2016 people bought homes in Sobha Dream Acers society who got possession in 2019. It is 2024 now. How much they are suffering each day in last 5 years. The societies in Panathur are amazing but traffic problems are horrible.

The road is horrible. It has been lingering for past 7to 8 years. The condition of existing mud road is also dangerous for commuters. Most of the time people in 2 wheelers slip and 4 wheelers breakdown. Neither the govt nor the MP nor the mla pays any attention

I think all are at fault. BBMP gives permission to apartment builders seeing only the road that apartment connects to, they wont consider the fact that many such apartments will then converge at a main road or junction. Builders violate the plan and build more apartments than planned. People also buy without thinking about the downsides of the locality.

There are many apartments built on 2 lane roads. They should have at least 4 lane roads to build apartment complexes. They also need to remove gullies, build more parallel roads and relocate/redevelop small houses. Urban planning needed like in metros.

Good coverage. Keep it up DH 👏 People have moved into this area in droves because it is “geographically closer” to IT corridor. But the “man made” mess of urban planning or the lack of it has ensured that those folks cant access the IT corridor without enduring pain. Solutions are too slow and never holistic, when they do get implemented the problem would have already grown exponentially. This is the curse that our country’s brightest minds, who solve some of the toughest problems for the world, have to endure. Very unfortunate.

One of the hell holes of Bengaluru traffic is in the Marathahalli circle and about 5 kms radius from Marathahalli x roads. Even if you are able to cross the railway underpass and the S-Cross, there is so much encroachment on either side of the road that it restricts smooth vehicular movement. One thing you will find very common in Bangalore is that, the authorities don’t try to solve the issue unless it becomes a total deadlock for everyone and people starts going mad about the situation. Be it Silk Board junction, KR Puram, Hebbal cross road, Ejipura etc.. BBMP and BDA works slower than municipalities of tier 2-3 cities.

I travel almost every day from this road, and I use a two-wheeler. One of the biggest problems is lane discipline, especially two wheelers. I feel like an idiot standing in my lane and seeing others entering the wrong way and blankly looking at the oncoming traffic as if they will magically disappear!

This is a very good report.. while I don't use this road on a daily basis, I did use this on one fateful night to travel to Nusa, a nearby pub... damn.. it was 10pm on a Saturday night and was jus about 4 kms away from the pub.. I reached there at 11:45pm.. it was a night to remember. And I took an oath to never take that road ever again in my life.. having said that I work around the Bellandur area and have a lot of colleagues coming from Pannathur and no one, trust me no one wants to stay there but are forced to until they find a nearby alternative may be around Hennur or HSR, and the rents are super crazy there.. some of them are even thinking of getting out of BLR due to this (which mind u is not a good sign for such a growing city like Blr).

Panathur road widening and railway underpass works are happening at very slow pace. There are multiple accidents damaged vehicles, hours of traffic jam every day and night, much pathetic during rain. We need two way traffic here. It's been 8 yrs I am living here and experiencing 1 way vehicle movement. @bbmp and @south western railway, Request to quicken the road widening and railway underpass to resolve the problem. Thousands of people travel on this road, if you spend one day's taxes paid by these people together resolves decade problem.

In near vicinity of Panathur railway underbridge, there is another infamous road with similar traffic jams. Its VIBGYOR school road in Thubarahalli, where you can experience traffic jams any time of the day. There are big apartment buildings in Thubarahalli area. And off late many apartments (huge ones) coming up in Balagere road and in CDP road. For all of these people (once the buildings come up) connectivity will be Panathur road (towards ORR) and VIBGYOR school road (towards Whitefield). Really don't understand the logic with which BBMP gives building plan approval without road connectivity. Seems people are being taken for granted...

The hardships, not to mention the reduced life expectancy resulting from such hardships, will be a matter of concern to the Supreme Court of the nation. Politicians will not solve this problem because they stand to benefit from these issues given their nexus with builders. It doesn’t matter which party comes to power. We need a complete overhaul planning for roads in Bangalore especially newly formed office and residential areas in the last 10 years.. there are no proper approach roads for most of the areas as they are passing through old villages.. roads should have been planned around the village before permissioning for and apartment construction… Rayasandra road has not been repaired since 2018.. DH can probably check this for a very good story..

The area is a transportation nightmare. Public transport is completely absent, and reaching it requires navigating a hazardous underpass. Pedestrians are at constant risk, leaving residents with no choice but to use car or two wheeler.

Some of the problems: 1) single lane road converts into 2 lane one way; 2) bikes, auto’s create another lane on the wrong side and they all merge at one point creating the ‘bottle neck’. If all maintain lane discipline, the traffic will move smoothly even though it’s slow.

The only solution to this is having buses every 10-15 minutes, making it convenient for people to favor public transport over their own vehicle. No road widening will alleviate this issue. The only solution is to reduce the traffic on the road.

Bmtc should also put in gps trackers into their buses and use a system similar to Uber for bookings, arrival and departure timing via an app. Unlike a road widening project, this would be cheaper and in the long run even generate revenue for the govt.

Thanks for highlighting this there are many other main roads in Bengaluru which need construction.Potholes are like dosa, same number of holes on road you will find on the road. Eg Sarjapura to rga tech park. Domsandra to varthur lake, Varthur kodi to kundanahalli.

I have been around this locality for about 40 years now. My father, grand father also lived here. I am very sure that this problem will not be solved, ever. These roads are just not meant for this kind of traffic. Even with best efforts authorities will only manage to move the traffic blockage to some other junction. I see more apartment builds are getting constructed around here. Its only gonna get worse.

much needed report... But other than the surface issues of commuters , the report dosent dive into the real reasons of such grave delay in building good quality road. No word about the ever sleeping slumber giant Indian Railway.. Where ever there is a railway line in Bangalore rural areas , one side faces massive neglect in development and infrastructure... Its high time to build good quality wide railway flyovers at all underpasses in these areas.. So that the vehicle load will be dispersed from one stressed crossing like this panathur to multiple ones.. Also the uncompleted ORR to Gunjur road + railway flyover should be completed in as early as possible.. This will decongest even the Marathahalli area and Carmelaram traffic..

The guy who said he took 2 hours for 2km sitting in his car is the best irony here! I don't understand why people want a car to travel 2km *alone*, even though they know the roads are not big enough. As I commute on this route from Belandur road railway stn. to Brookefield I see a lot of such people. Just one person driving an Innova with the other 7 seats empty!! People should understand that "traveling in car" causes traffic in roads that are hardly 40ft wide (in some section its 20ft) with enough potholes, schools and apartments of 8-10+ floors on each side of the road. God save Bengaluru!

Every day lacs of people try to cross this area. Even if they resolve the infrastructure in this place. they definitely need to find alternate entry points for people from this side to get to the otherside of the railway line. Lot of constructions are happening in varthur , gunjur side lots of apartments are coming up. once they all get occupied this is gonna get even further choked up. All the tax we give away for nothing no quality of life.

Absolutely frustrating to see the state of our roads! This stretch of road has been a nightmare for the last 10 years with zero improvement. It's like driving through a path to hell. The negligence from our government and politicians is just unacceptable. If they can't fix this, why not complete the CDP road that would connect to the ORR near New Horizon College? It was started years ago and just left to rot. And it’s not just this road-most of the roads in Bangalore’s rural areas are in terrible condition(Hofafrom to chennasandra , Surjapur Road , Varthuru , E City near Fruit market , Marathahalli, Munnekolala, Kundanahalli, Dommasandra to Attibelle like these many i can show). Calling this place an 'IT city' is a joke when the infrastructure is more like something out of a tribal area. Time for real action, not just empty promises! I appreciate @deccan Herald to coming forward to show the reality and i request to cover other parts of Bangalore bad roads. Thank you

The way Bengaluru south has infrastructure that kind of planning and implementation is required. We see people From Electronic City to airport can reach in 1.5 hours and to majestic ksr railway station in 40 min. Nice road , electronic city flyover every road though it is toll paid roads provide fastest commute in and around Bengaluru.

I am living since 10 years in Balagere road. It's been a hell commuting everyday. It's like a project going to office everyday. We need to check local whatsapp group, Telegram group and maps to see which route to take on that day. We are hoping that the government might take up some development work. But it's becoming messier day by day. Most of surrounding people use this road and many create chaos by forming multiple lanes. Since we follow lane discipline strictly, we suffer everyday. Request authorities to widen roads and get us out of everyday pain. Since we have bought house here, it's difficult to sell and move out. Keeping fingers crossed to get a favorable solution soon 😢

Challaning bikers won't help, there are many commuters with just one person in single car, which exacerbate the problem on this stretch. They should give bikers some preference so that they don't get stuck for long. BMTC could also start some AC bus services from Varthur to Kodibeesanhalli junction.

The traffic problem at Panathur rly.underbridge can conveniently be overcome if govt. consider to construct R O B (rly.over bridge) or wide rly.level crossings. At the same time, the narrow road, both the sides be widened.

This route is my daily commute to office. People staying at Gunjur Palya suffers a lot. It’s okay if there is no second underpass for now, what more important is the s cross road, and it should be ataleast two lanes. Next hurdle is if we want to travel via Sarjapur Road, the carmelaram rail gate closed for over ridge work and seems like work is halted.

Everyone is looking down and the road and seeing all these issues, the solution is to look up. The Govt. is planning a Sky Bridge to ensure the people of Bangalore can be relieved of these problem and fill their hearts with joy!

It's surprising in your entire video DH was not bothered to cover the progress on the Gunjur-ORR 6-lane 45 meter/150ft wide link road progress stuck near the railway line. Completion of the pending 2 km stretch inclusive of a rail over flyover at Panathur of the total 5 km link road will completely change the traffic scene. But then you need to make the next video on massive traffic jams at both ends at Gunjur junction and Embassy ORR junction.
