I choke up every time I watch that video. Hopsin was at a point where he believed he was never going to see his son, so he figured there was no point in holding back. I’m so happy he has his son now.
I could definitely understand by some of the lyrics, but the way I grew up I can relate to so much of it. I feel (just like all music out there) it will capture the people it's meant for. Your thoughts lizard king?
lizard king 35 It’s hypocritical how people criticize Hopsin’s lyrics as corny and then proceed to listen to Biggie saying “I will bust in her E-Y-E” or something. I’m not saying Biggie is bad, I love him, but he has some strange lyrics too and everyone loves him, but when Hopsin does it, it’s suddenly some stupid double standard.
Punk_In_Drublic_89 I think he’s great lyrically but got some music that could be a little bit bad. Still I don’t like it when people call him corny because he actually speaks about real problems in life (not that I relate to him).
It does get on my nerves sometimes about the pauses, BUT, I get why, and when he does speak, most of the time its facts and truth. Helping people at the same time! @LayedBakDFR
For those who don’t know, domestic violence in Australia is a pretty big offense. “Hotel in Sydney” describes it to a tee. He stated in an interview that he pled guilty because he had several important deals happening in the next two weeks; if he tried to fight it, he would’ve been stuck in Sydney and lost a lot of major record deals; long story short, he was banned from going back to Australia.
8:14 This is so real, man. I was once having a conversation about Kyle (the rapper), and this chick legit told me that she doesn’t like his music because he’s “too happy.” And that blew my mind. How can you dislike someone because they’re happy? That’s some whack shit
Hop pours is entire heart and soul in his music. Dammit I love this dude and hope he gets everything sorted during his break from music. #PrayersForHopsin
The reason so many people are drawn to the negativity and the savagery in people is due to one simple fact. It's the way out society is structured, we repress all our instincts, were bound by so many laws that when we bottle to much up, we explode, hence the violence that breaks out. So when we get a chance to witness that, it's like relieving stress, it's why people imagine what they would do in that position. Anyways, I don't mean to preach or assume anything but that's just my personal opinion. Also I have no clue as to why I'm writing a comment I doubt anyone is going to read lmao 😂
“Hotel in Sydney” explains this whole story. Hopsin is probably my biggest inspiration in rap music. And seeing that had to go through this just hits the feels fr. Definitely check out that song.
Man, you really spoke truth about the emotions we all have. I am impressed and happy to see understanding and knowledge of humanity on such a high level - gives all of your reactions and positive messages a grounded foundation. 100%
7:10 really hit me in a place that’s been dark for a long time, %100 correct and no matter what anyone has to say about what you just said. I stand by it because that shit was truth
I am requesting you react to Western Australian rapper, Complete and his song "Jordan" You will never hear a rap song like this one. So much pain and struggle in one song. Complete is a story teller with his rhymes, like Em & Joyner
As someone who has been in this same situation, the mindset is indescribable. Anger, pain, sadness, and just absolutely nothing at times. It's so difficult, and how people can willingly bail on their children is beyond me (to be fair, I eventually learned after about a year that the child actually wasn't mine, so I have squared everything away with her since then) nonetheless, it is a absolutely insane thing to experience. Not the biggest Hopsin fan ever, but this song has always hit me in a certain way. Apparantly Hopsin also finally got to meet his son recently
You dropped one of my favorite Hopsin songs when I just woke up thank you it's 7:30 a.m. in the morning #firesquad Edit: and it was about his ex girlfriend and by the way why he said he would assault her is because that's what he got arrested for because she accused him of it which he never did it he went to court and everything over it
You can press even the most calm person and if you hit that button just right everyone is capable of hurting someone else. Those who sit back and judge and tell themselves they would never hurt another etc are fooling themselves. Either they are smart enough to stay outta getting into that situation (smarts only do so much, we can all land in a situation we didn't see coming) or just haven't ran into that particular person etc that makes them see red. As long as Humans exist then so will war on large and small scales.
Hopsin mostly uses his own life story for his songs, hotel in Sydney goes into mad detail about what happened, this is the same girl "the old us" is about, he recently reunited with his son so I guess that song reached her and worked out for him. Hotel in Sydney is a must reaction though 100%
I appreciate the emotion. I know being a father...there aint nothing i wouldnt do for my kids. The reaction was solid with truth for words. Keep em comin!
Lowkey, when man "don't you think I just wanna get a burger" is something that relates to me. Love the content and your reaction choices are personally my favourite. Different artists and more stuff to watch.
@3:55 i call it closing the book. Each phase is a chapter, and when you start questioning how or why you became friends. When you get those questions floating around that means it's time to close the book and put It back on the shelf. 🤷♀️
That analysis was very spot on, introspective, and articulate. This is one of my favorite reviews I've watched in a long ass time. Very intelligent and honest response
Amazing how you dropped actual knowledge on real world topics and emotions, not too many will see the human side of this song but I’m glad you do. Peace homie ✌️
man, i know that feeling way to good... being friends with someone that's very special to you and then it's just over out of nowhere. the worst thing to ever happen to someone
Can only say how much I relate to this track & what hop was going through at the time. I'm still there. Fucking sucks. I miss my son more than anything. Every night I go to bed with this wicked pain.
Great reaction as always usually when I see a new song drop I don’t listen to it for a few days cuz I love watching theses vids when it’s a song I ain’t heard yet keep up the great work😁
I've been going through with this for years...this song makes me cry every damn time! Understand that some woman will do anything to screw you're life up just to benefit themselves and the government always is on the womans side! I want my son to be with me very waking second, but his mom wants all the money...to some woman, all they think of their children is pay checks...SMH...it just sucks man..
If it makes you feel better, I'm pretty sure the other month Hopsin got to see his son! So I'm assuming they worked something out peacefully, glad to see you react to this man! Much love from Canada!
So him and his son were separated from each other by the sons mother. Listen to hotel in Sydney for the whole story. And then that takes you to "The Old Us"
KEEP IT REAL!!! We've all been there. It's just what we do with those feelings that septate us from animals. I like how Hopsin keeps it relevant. Everyone can relate to this song, even though it's not one of his greatest.
I heard Hotel in Sydney, the whole album, watched Ill mind 9 and couldn’t stop crying(thought I was going to have a son, but he ended up not being mine). The only thing that’s more emotional than this was seeing them reunited.
Everyones energy is in constant change. Trying to grow myself going through shit everyone does but tackling that stuff like a safety position player lol. But this song is truth.
The song you listen to three months ago the old us by Hopsin was a follow-up to this track with hotel in Sydney explaining more details, since these tracks Hopsin has been able to reconcile and see his son
Please please please!! React to Token! Every track is fire! Code Red is fire RU-vid Rapper is fire And you is fire Treehouse is fire Doozy is fire Patty Cake is fire
I loved your discussion about the evil that lays into people, i think what drives us to our dark side is usually the fascination of the forbidden fruit, that's why so many people that committ heinous crimes is usually ispired by somebody else. Once you get access to an alternative viewpoint that includes breaking the rules to exploit your dark side, you get caught if your faith is not strong enough
I feel him I felt the same way when I wasnt able too see my son it brings out rage in you when people you love so much screw your life up and takes your blood away from you
Hopsin spitting the truth, 100% legit. I'm lucky enough to be one that follows him on his personal insta, he's locked that off now to everyone but he recently met his son and it was beautiful to see. He is a fire artist.
React to G-Eazy Everything Will be Ok He talks about finding his mom to be lesbian and found her love one dead in the basement one of his best songs very deep PLEASE
G'day Legend! Love from Aus as always. In Hopsin's newest album he opens with a song explaining everything that has happened to him over the past few years. Id love to see a reaction to 'Hotel in Sydney' Loving your 2019 goals man
