Dave and GATA's "mom" and "sister" (aunt raised him since year old - his parents died of crack) convinced him to disclose that he's bipolar. That scene was actually real! Not just of something that "really happened".. but real when it was being recorded. He didn't want to do it, but Dave, mom, and sis are the people he love's the most.. so he did. The scene where he flips out in the store actually happened at home after his homies took him from the studio because they were worried about him (he was trashin the place), and he flipped out on his mom.. did all that.. and then was running around naked screamin. She had to call the police herself. He was actually touring with Lil Wayne and Tyga and going manic over it. FYI - that's from an interview I found. Directly from GATA's mouth.
Wow. I LOVE this rap. Because LaydbakDFR hasn’t watched the show he is oblivious to the fact NOT ONLY is this an entertaining rap, but the CONTENT of his rap BRILLIANTLY references the recent events in the character Dave Byrd’s life (e.g. things like giving credit to his Beats man Els, references to his GF leaving him, the significance of “My Dick Sucks”, his struggles with white privilege...). When you take ALL OF THIS in context, this rap is elevated from very good to BRILLIANT.
First. You really need to watch this show. Season 1 was FIRE. To really appreciate this freestyle, you need to watch the entire season to understand whats going on and the references he drops. Give it a go.
Disappointed to see you didn’t react as I thought you would when he looks at the camera and gets cut off with the title of the show. I didn’t expect many people to get chills but I did. Damn props to that creativity. That was a dope way to wrap up the first season as he introduces himself to the world.
One of the best rated shows on FXX of all time or something. Like the amount of people loving his show is insane, but for good reason. It's made us die laughing and even tearing up at it
Literally his plan all along was to rap and get big enough to transition into comedy. He’s been planning this for years. Genius. EDIT** This is not just my opinion, he said that himself.
Blacki J who the fuck hasn’t heard Professional Rapper? Lol. I wasn’t giving my opinion my guy, I was just repeating what the man himself said on a podcast that he was on. I didn’t just come up with that shit on my own. Lmao.
Kind of like calling him a culture vulture. Unless you're saying hes still going to rap and shit. I dont think he strictly wants to go to comedy. Obviously he wants to do more than just rap. Hes an artist and just wants to do everything he can with his creativity. I hope that's what you meant. Because if not then you're just calling him a vulture. Which I dont think he's doing.
Deven Ruiz All I’m even gonna take the time to respond to from that is the vulture part man. lol. Bc I so plainly called him a genius. If I was trying to say he was being a vulture I wouldn’t call him a genius, or even be watching a Lil Dicky reaction video for that matter. Come on, you guys think before you comment. I said very clearly in my first reply, and even edited my original comment, that this was coming from HIM, not me. Have a good one ✌️
@@gudrapmusic1016 it's not even like that bro. I'm just saying hes always been into comedy. And from the way you worded it makes it seem like that's how he is. Just saying. Dave is one over the best and funniest rapper out. Love him!
People don’t understand how much more this hits if you watch the entire first season first. And when that shit ends with just “DAVE” I feel like everybody sings the “Hi, I’m Dave” theme in their head haha 😂
The show is a must watch. It’s so good at showing coming up in the music scene but also has a lot of very impactful moments and really talks a lot about mental health. I think you would love it
@LayedBakDFR you have the best channel out there for reactions. I love your presentation, colors, lighting, mic setup, everything. I'm trying to start my own reaction channel and I'm inspired by yours. Thank you.
Yoooo man! Long time no Lil Dicky reactions! Love your analysis on his stuff and wanted to see if you've seen the new stuff he has on his show, especially Season 3 right now! Would love to see a reaction to it bro!
Aw man! You should definitely check out the show! At first it was really silly and funny I thought it was gonna just be a comedy, but it really does get into a serious notch with his relationship, which is partially real, and then showing how labels can kinda be so so on a record deal. It’s crazy! The show’s really good in my opinion, more than just a comedy. I highly recommend to watch it!!
yeah man def watch the show it is so well done. Well Lil dicky introduces himself as Dave bc its his real name and explains it way before the show debuted. It was suuuuuch a good ending to a season man, that beat played throughout episodes and the opening to almost every episode so very cool how the team tied it all back.
Congrats on a million love the channel your videos always really calm me if I can make a request in the rock genre do king park by la dispute the lyrics and story are so crazy
why are all these dudes doing reviews on this "freestyle" and dont even watch the show? thats understanding half of everything right there.. no context head ass
Definitely watch the show to get a better understanding of this whole scene.. I wish this video started from the moment he walked in there, even just that much extra time would had given you a little more insight to what's happening.
