I would like to know a bit more about when you choose whether to switch compound or pads or perhaps both when you want to get more cut or less cut or better finish, for example. I understand this is a topic where experience comes in. But with your fantastic way of explaining I a sure you can make it understandable.

I was doing my washes like this, using 5-6 wash mediums (mits or in my case 800 gsm microfibers) years ago and people thought I was nuts for doing it, now I see it on RU-vid....LOL! My black cars, which I've had black vehicles since 1992, have always been beautiful. I have been telling customers at the dealership how to maintain their Mercedes' or Volvos by touching the paint in the least amount possible for years too, as the parts manager. With detailing experience comes knowledge and I've been detailing since 1998, professionally... clients end up being directed to my parts counter for help. I probably could make a rather profitable side business consulting people. Our dealership owner has joked saying, I need to be charging people for the information, since his detailing dept isn't getting the work, because I'm teaching his new car clients how to keep their vehicles beautiful, although he might not be joking, lol. Although, he's been told multiple times that clients have come back for repeat purchases because they feel they're important to us, and the other dealers in the area simply say our detailing dept charges...and that's it all about the money!

Problem with using a leaf blower to dry car is: if your water isn't distilled or deionized, you are leaving all those minerals on the surface. This leads to a dull, hazy appearance, cutting down on shininess. These minerals can then get embedded into the clear coat, and at a minimum, remain to scratch the clear coat (or ceramic, whatever you have). Using a special drying towel PICKS UP all that water with the solids!!! A good towel won't scratch your car. "Touchless" drying only works if you have 100% pure H20.

Well it isn't one of those red (orange) disasters I normally see. I don't know where they sorced their red and clear from but it can get nasty. Almost like the Fords that just shed their paint back in the day. The era of cutting corners to save a nickle was the 80's! This looks like a very good series for the person looking for the little tricks you can only learn with time.

Don't know that I would use a leaf blower to get the water off the car unless door jambs, hood and trunk openings have been washed and rinsed thoroughly so the blower doesn't bring grit out of those areas and onto the outer surfaces.

Is always nice to see your videos man, you know, there is an alcaline shampoo named Active Diamond by Nerta, it can wash away all the dirt with a non touchless facility, it even decontaminate surfaces, i highly recommend it, it save a lot of money and effort on my details, you use it with a snow foam, let him do his thing and then rinse down to roof in order to create a washing machine effect with the water and the snow

Also, I found the DPC rinseless wash here and have been blown away by it. I've been a long time ONR guy - and I don't think I'll ever go back! On the subject of a video, it would be nice to know how the Pros deal with large vehicles. I have a new F150 King Ranch and dealing with the windshield, back of the hood is a huge pain. Same goes to the large sun/moon roof up top and my bed cover. Are there some good pole tools?

Hello Brian, I have several question pertaining to the tools and the service being done to this Vette. 1) You were spraying the side panels first. What was the reason for that. 2) What type of spray bottle you were using. 3) What is the name and type of spray nozzle you were using with the hose. 4) What type of foam cannon you were using to foam the Vette. 5) What type of brush you were using to clean the emblems with. 6) what would be the total cost of this type of paint correction and the amount of days would a car be in your garage for this type of job. Love that two bucket system. Thanks.

Great video, should be a very educational series! Which pressure washer trigger is that? If I’m going to buy an electric pressure washer, what PSI do I need to look for? One for foam cannons and general rinsing. I’ve noticed that electric doesn’t offer regulators to adjust the PSI, like some of the gas pressure washers out there. Thx

It’s interesting you’ve gone back to a more traditional wash system instead of sticking with your rinseless system. Did you do that because you’re just more effective with free flowing water or was there some other reason? Were you just too limited with your rinseless system?

I still use both. Recently got a permit in my township for run off from washing.
@lacro5686
@lacro5686 5 лет назад
Using your one bucket with multiple mitts method is brilliant! It's the rinseless wash method but with free flowing water for the rinse. It's by far the best method ever! 2 buckets with grit guards is old school, and should be dropped by everyone. Rinsing a mitt in the clear water bucket, and scraping it on a grit guard doesn't remove all the grit. Pushing the mitt down to the grit guard is a hydraulic action that forces the grit off the bottom, and back into solution and onto the mitt, and ultimately the paint. To my thinking that's just dumb!! Having a new fresh soap soaked mitt for each area pass over the dirty vehicle makes so much more sense! I just tried this one bucket multi-mitt method on my black truck. Wow!!, it's definitely a better method for sure. Instead of buying grit guards, just buy more mitts. When I finished the wash, the bucket of soapy water was still clean, and clear. I could have added more clean mitts, and done another round of washing if my truck was especially dirty which I sometimes have done with the 2 bucket method. Instead of just dumping the still clean soapy water, I threw all the dirty mitts into the bucket to give them a prewash before doing a full washing machine wash.
