I did the same job for years (but we call it "biological remediation"). I was part of the crew that cleaned up the theater after the Dark Knight shootings in Colorado. I've picked up brains off train tracks, cleaned houses after entire families were murdered, gang stabbings, police shootings, jumpers, factory accidents.. you name it. I always thought it would be interesting to come on the show and talk about that kind of work and lifestyle. This guy beat me to it though. Good for him!

I'm doing good these days but I've struggled with suicidal ideation in the past. Hearing about this dudes job and all of the restoration that has to happen after completed suicides just further reinforces my will to live and not do anything drastic when life gets hard. Thank you, Theo, you and this fella are doing incredible work

This is a new space of podcasting that Theo is breaking ground on. I think as a whole we’re getting tired of watching rich people and comedians talk about the same old shit. This is actually interesting (due to obscure job guy) and still very entertaining (due to Theo).

As someone who has been doing trauma, water, fire, and mold for 7 years it's nice to see you bring this gentleman on. People don't realize how draining this career choice can be. Hardest part is dealing with a distraught customer who just lost someone.

These working man interviews are where you truly shine, Theo. Please do these more often!! At least these are new people with new, unique perspectives about something a lot of us don't know about, rather than another comedian we've heard on every other podcast this week, you know?

As a mortician, I was tasked with cleanup. Lots of gruesome stories about one guy was nice and lay on the floor with a pillow under his head to catch the mess. Nice guy in the end.

the best thing about these episodes is seeing these normal people witness Theo's extremely high level of comedy, he's a straight up genius.

Another example of every day people being far more interesting than celebrities. Love that Theo does this.

Let’s just imagine Theo was a prosecutor questioning a murder suspect. “ The blood on your hands did you think it was Runny red Play-Doh or melted red Jell-O” and then he finishes off with “I knew a guy named Mark…..”

I was cleaning while listening to this podcast and I had to stop to comment how AMAZING of an interviewer Theo is. He really asked all the right questions so that his audience could get the full story out of Bob who has a very unique and often overlooked at job. Love you Rat King, pleeeaaassee never stop these kinds of interviews!!

As a former Funeral Director/Embalmer, I wanted to say first off, sorry to Bobby for the loss of his father this past March. I also commend him for what he does for a living. I had a few calls where I wasn't required but for the family's sake because they were present and didn't see how bad the scene was after the police and Coroner released it I helped clean it up to avoid further grief for them after their son at one, and father dying of cancer at another shot themselves. I also cleaned train tracks, Metra, and Freight, walking miles for parts, so young kids and the public wouldn't be upset the next day and so we would have as much of the deceased intact. I had to eat Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches and stay vegetarian as a Funeral Director. I couldn't cope with any meat of any kind. I was doing embalming autopsies too, plus the state of these scenes..🤢 It was hard and sad and heartbreaking. I still pray for those people to be so full of despair to feel there was no other options and when people call them selfish it enrages me because it is a chemical imbalance and they are not in their right mind. The human body does everything possible to fight to stay alive. But if someone is mentally ill or suddenly out of their right mind and people think how can they do this to their loved ones here all self righteous and judgmental they don't get the stigma of mental illness or grasp it or living for years with chronic illness that never ends. They have a few bad days here and there and act like their life is over. It is just maddening. Well anyhow great interview..great stories and fascinating discussion. P.S. Congrats Theo on reaching 1 million subscribers you deserve it so much. Your broadcast and group here is like family which has helped me so much through grief and dark and coming out of it period. These podcasts are infinitely better than what we typically see which is other celebs interviewing each other. Of course, itd be Theo, the peoples comedian, would have the balls to do this and successfully pull it off.

I cleaned carpets for 10 years and I’ve seen this shit first hand. One house I went to, the piss was soaking up through the rug as you stepped on it. I just left. I said carpet cleaning will do nothing. That is a house you are super glad to get the hell out of. Some people are just disgusting.

Don't know if this was by design but I find Theo bringing a working man in on the week he reaches 1M subs, instead of some celebrity friend of his to celebrate the milestone, really speaks volumes on the kind of guy he is

theo's best skill is just talking. doesn't matter who is in front of him, he makes it entertaining. and the 'normal ppl' guests are so welcoming of theo. his humour and his desire to be himself shines through

Totally relate to this guy, I worked for a restoration company for 6 years and once had to clean out a truck that someone had committed suicide in, there was still brain matter all over the interior and i cant even begin to describe the smell after the truck had been sitting in 90 degree weather! Props to this guest this line of work is no joke! Gang Gang

Mad respect for this dude. He didn’t even finish high school and he’s really made a life for himself and continues to. He’s a hustler and no doubt he’s gonna go far. Hope he’s happy , it seems like he is. I know a guy like him, who works as a nuclear engineer and is constantly working super high stress jobs, travels too much for interpersonal relationships, all in the name of early retirement… it doesn’t sound worth it to me knowing we could die any day, but idk different strokes for different folks. I’ll probably be working til I die either way
