Their instruction is not easy and kind to a Berkey newcomer and I looked for other videos on RU-vid, but those videos were all somewhat irritating. This video is so helpful without blur blur chat like other videos. For a beginner, this is the best video to learn how to use Berkey Travel!
Nice job! Thank you so much. I bought my Travel Berkey 3-4 months ago and have procrastinated setting it up. Now, I will do it! Promise! Your video was excellent--calming. Thank you!
Thank you SO much. Made it much easier. I did use the blue prime rite universal primer & it worked great. Only took seconds, maybe 10-15ish. The other round cork looking thing was a pain. Didn’t do the dye test either. 🤞 Looking forward to stop buying bottled water. Thank you again for video. Awesome.
Hi 👋🏼 I hope u r checking your messages question since you bought your travel size Berkeley have you replaced the black filters and where did you get them? I saw them on Amazon for like $30 something dollars and the company selling it like $175 what’s your take on it?
Thanks for this video. My travel Berkey was sitting in the box for 6 weeks because I was afraid to assemble it. Your video really helped. I did not receive the fluoride filters, though, and am confused. The black filters don't remove fluoride?
From the other water purification systems, I've seen that there's always a seperate filter for fluoride. I don't know why that is other than its another way to get money from you.
Great assembly demo! Will assemble watching your video if I decide to purchase a unit. Current 2021 price, btw, is $374. I'm guessing the astronomical cost increase is due partly to COVID and panic buyers.
Thanks for the video! My Big Berkey arrived today! I haven't opened the box because I think I should have bought the Travel Berkey. Only me at home (and I drink about 3 litres per day) but I also have lots of house plants. I'm doubting my decision because a friend has the Travel Berkey and says it's more than enough for him and his 3 pets. They say it's not good to have the water sitting for ages. Your advice would be very appreciated!! Thanks in advance.
Great job on the instructional vid. Helped me confirm correct assembly. Only comment I would have added was to hold on to that priming button for future cleaning. I also wanted to see what the upper chamber looked like after the black purification filters were installed because the bottom of the chamber is flat, but both of my black purifiers are leaning slightly to the outside, touching the edges of the tank.
Thank you for this very very helpful video. The instructions seemed complicated to me. I also was provided 2 sheets of contents that didn't match up. I was concerned because I just opened it today and had been procrastinating on putting it together...and purchased it last October and most definitely past the window of return on Amazon. Mind did NOT come with floride filters but they are on order. I was wondering if you were able to put them on? Doesn't seem like there is enough space to install them 🤔
I need to put on the fluoride filters and need instruction on that. Guess I will have to call the company again. I left a detailed message and they replied, but they did not answer my very specific questions about how to do it.
5 seconds - HAH!! Minimum may be 5 mins, as stated in instructions but no way did even that work for me! As recommended by another user I soaked the filters apprx 30 mins then repeated the flushing process - this time it took 2-3 mins to get the bubbling effect to appear on the filter surface. I thoroughly flushed the fluoride filters, filled the chamber, and let 3 water fills process thru to thoroughly clear out any remaining residue. So far, so good.
Well, I got the fluoride filters too... so will keep looking. Makes me wonder why you have them, but chose not to include. Onwards away to solve the mystery
this is about unboxing and setting up any Berkey. The travel Berkey is specifically for traveling. But you don't talk anything about transporting and there are no videos anywhere about it. How do you transport a wet filter if you don't want to dry it out and store it?
weird question, do you think with dirty water (if you used river water for example, not that i would) could somehow microscopically drip through the washer area where the two holes are and go into the clean water?
good video im thinking of purchasing the travel berkey as i only drink 2 to 3 litres of water a day and dont wash any veg ..being holding out this last week to decide if i should go big berky but reckon would be a waiste.. liittle put of by fluroide filters sitting in water how do you find the taste of the water ..
Liam Kirwan, The big Berkey is fine but I think the travel one would work for you. I actually do not use the fluoride filters as of now but will soon install them to see what they are like. I was a bit apprehensive about the filters sitting in the water as well. Sorry it took so long to respond and good luck. Please leave another comment on how you like yours when you get it.
I'm so stupid! Am still having trouble figuring all this together. Your video helps but Berkey directions are a confusing nightmare. I regret my purchase
The instructions are confusing! And no you're not stupid. This video really helped me..actually pretty simple seems like but takes a lil time to set it all up
The Berkey printed instructions are poor. The illustrations do not match the parts OR they sent me the wrong parts. On the Travel Berkey they did not send me no. 10 item, large sealing washer. That's why I'm watching your vid. Wish I had not bought this Berkey with all the hassle its costing me.
I like the Travel Berkey but i think i will upgrade in the near future and place this one in the camping gear. any comments or recommendations will be great.
James it will work for the home, I still use it in the house. you will just have to fill it up a few times a day depending on how much water you drink. my family drinks around 4 gallons a day but it will work for the house. The filters also work well and filter quick.
