What do you all do for breakfast when staying out? It's often hard to find something to eat when you're on a plant-based diet, so I always prepare my own breakfast. I'd be happy if this could be of any help!

I do the same. I make my overnight oats, keep a pack of my nut and seed bars + tofu salad for my first meal. I also pack a goody bag with my snack bag add ons (like chia and pumpkin seeds, goji, flax, pistachios, etc. etc) 😊

Team (used) glass jar. It‘s sustainable and a more healthy material and if you can‘t get boiled water, make overnight oats with cold water.
@tarastreasure
@tarastreasure 8 месяцев назад
Glass is ideal, but if you don't travel by car and have to carry your backpack for a long time, it adds to the weight. Silicone is good compared to the thin plastic of ziplock etc.

Those containers are so cool! I have a lot of food allergies (celiac plus egg, dairy, and nuts), so I also bring my own food when traveling since I can’t eat most of the food offered in American hotels. I like to make my oatmeal with chia and flax seeds 😊

No sugar shaming - but… although I am a total sweet tooth in European vegan terms, those sugar cubes seem excessive when you already have oats and raisins? So I am wondering, is this kind of brown/black sugar different in potency?

Looks good but… oatmeal is carbs (sugar), fruit is sugar, and black sugar is…. Yes, sugar 😢
@firefightingdrumstick
@firefightingdrumstick 3 месяца назад
Oatmeal isn’t just carbs. It also has fiber and other nutrients. Also just because something has carbs doesn’t mean it’s automatically as bad as refined sugars. Fruit also has fiber and is very low in sugar yet still sweet and doesn’t digest the same as refined sugar. Maybe don’t just exclude all carbs from your life. You’ll find you’re extremely limited in options and malnourished
