I keep a black cloth (bandana/shemagh) to cover my pack in case I'm leaving it in the floor of someone's truck or something, just to keep it out of sight. Plenty of other uses, too. Might even work with that lock to keep things secure. Any utility knife that takes standard blades, and you can have a blade simply with a stop at a gas station. Toss the blade before you get back to the airport.

So, I am not the only one that travels with a carabiner for dual purpose. I may have picked that up from Ron Hood 30 or so years back. The steel Search and Rescue carabiners are truly an amazing tool. Kevin is always enjoyable to listen to, he is on the same page as most of the better instructors.Remember, if someone is good enough to decode your keys from a RU-vid video, they are certainly good enough to pick your locks.

I didn't see a solar charger for your battery bank so i might be one up on you with that. I definitely still use the BiC with inner tube just like you taught us previously. I get it to carry a tarp. There are many useful ways to apply a tarp for survival. What I don't understand is why almost every video they never mention a LifeTent or Mylar sleeping bags? If taken care of, Mylar can be used for extended periods of time, and Mylar takes less space, lighter, and for heat retention or waterproof, they are a perfect example of survival essentials
@southerncomfort7490

Great stuff. But here comes my tip. Whatever bag you have, regularly check on its contents. It is just as important as having the right stuff in the bag. If it is out of date, (say, a medication), you need to replace it. It also goes with a 'mental audit.' That is to say, if you have not used the item in the last (say) five years, out it goes. Short of that, it is always good to know where everything is and so, even in the half-darkness, you can go straight to it. This is one of the key things that people forget to mention about Go Bags. You can never find the dog leash, the padlock, and the jumbo packet of condoms, just at the very moment you need them.
