Hey there, I'm Todd and welcome to my channel....Now to Lao!!
I currently live in Australia, but later this year (2018) I will be moving to Laos. So I decided to create this channel to document the lifestyle i lead now and where i live (Newcastle), my travels, and also the move to Laos. I have many videos on Laos and plan to keep making them once there permanently. You and food in your vlogs! I love it! I wish we had night markets here in the US. They appear similar to our Flea Markets, but ours are only on Saturday and Sunday, day hours. And ours don't have near as much food, it is more random stuff and junk being sold. Her saying a blessing when she tied on your bracelet was pretty awesome!

Man those pig boobs were the toughest things i've ever chomped on! The BBQ'd Bananas stuffed with coconut on the other hand were much better than you'd think....absolutely delicious!! Yeah, markets and night markets are very popular in SEAsia, well pretty much all of Asia. It's a great meeting place for locals to eat, hang out and make some money... I know it's common in Vientiane and Luang Prabang for them to say a blessing when tying a bracelet that you have bought off them. It's usually a Buddhist prayer, but i'm not so sure up in the north. I think the Akha still practice Animism and Ancestor worship, so i wasn't letting her get out of tying it on me 😋

Now to Lao They looked tougher than beef jerky! One of these days you'll be taking me to all these great places you have found! It seems like a great experience to take part in another tradition and culture!

For sure mate!! Laos is still so undeveloped tourism wise because of the lack of transport opportunities. No Rail, only a couple of air ports and a few main roads throughout the country. Tourists have to rely on buses to travel very windy and rough roads and car hire is virtually non existent up north. Am seriously considering doing customs tours for very small groups when i move here. Just do my thing, travel to places like this visiting villages and isolated tribes and take along people who would like this type of adventure...

You should try the roasted duck in that night market,because have the lot of people recommended with the papaya salad and sticky rice too.

I told your wife that when the Akha lady tell your wife in Lao that she's an Akha tribe,but her accent in Lao is wrong that's why your wife thought she said something else but not something bad lol,except mispronounced them.

2nd language is going to be harder than the 1st language,so is the accent,it's not going to be as smooth as the native tongue.

Just got back from 2 weeks in Vientaine, which was hugely expensive and finding food for a reasonable price was impossible. A terrible hotel was 500baht a night and went to 1000 immediately. I was not impressed.......

Sails Yes., Some Area in Vientiane is quite expensive but some Area very Nice and Cheap and Good Food at Street Food is Cheap too
