Thank you for the comparison, such a great help. I have been a nurse for 13 years and I'm starting my first travel assignment next week 🙂Definitely a learning curve 🙃

From what I’ve heard after six years of traveling is that Emerald is a great company but usually pay for less than other companies
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla 2 года назад
Yes, that's true. They're a solid company, but pay is not competitive. Pre-COVID it was, but with crisis rates nowadays, they aren't paying the same as others.

First time traveling and it has been so frustrating. The anxiety level is over the roof. For the reason you just talked about. Got a job - But then evey day the company needed something for compliance. But was still working on paper work on a Thur when I starte on a Monday. I agree compliance FIRST
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla 2 года назад
Yes! I always ask multiple times each day before starting if there is anything at all they still need. I tell them once I start driving I won't have time to take tests or stop for labs or vaccines or any other nonsense they like to tack on at the last minute. That usually tends to get the compliance coordinator to really check everything off ahead of time. I also always drop whatever I'm doing to spend the time to turn in whatever they're asking for, to do any required tests, and to get my drug screen/physical done same day. I know a lot of people don't have a lot of downtime to get that stuff done the same day, but it really makes the process smoother and less stressful.

This happened to me this week 😅 they gave me contract within 2 days and rushed me to finish compliance papers but it just wasn’t a good fit at this time

With NUWest due u have to come outta pocket with housing and rental car
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla 11 месяцев назад
They provide stipends for housing, meals & incidentals. I've only worked with a few companies that offer rental car stipends, most do not.

Does Nuwest do a standby like Krucial?
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla 2 года назад
I haven't seen them do the standby, but I know things change all the time. That'd be a good question for a recruiter at Nuwest.

Do you have any experience with Triage?
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla 2 года назад
I have experience with Talemed. They were okay. Pay was meh. I believe they formed a partnership with Triage staffing last year, so pay rates went up. Overall a good company though.

So they take surgical Technologist ? Emeril
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla 2 года назад
I'm not sure if Emerald has opportunities for surgical techs, but I'd be happy to refer you, if you'd like! A lot of companies do offer surgical tech travel positions though. You'd just have to ask them :)

What do you think of AMN Healthcare? I’m new to this.
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla Год назад
I haven't personally worked with them, so I don't how much of an opinion. I don't care for their pay rates though (which is why I haven't worked for them) and whenever I've tried to build a relationship with them, seems like I get bounced around recruiters, which I also dislike. I can't speak past that :/

Thank you for this! I’m interested in Emerald, do you have a specific recruiter you would recommend?

Eliza Dawson at Emerald! She's the top recruiter of the company and is hands-down the best! Email me and I'll send her contact info over :) travelnursecayla@gmail.com

Which of the travel company allow u to register housing unit wit them?
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla Год назад
I'm not sure what you mean. Could you clarify your question? Are you referring to having housing available for travelers and wanting to advertise with companies?
@shaimesh1
@shaimesh1 Год назад
@@travelnursecayla Yes. I'm registered with various travel nurse website for housing but would love to know which agencies book housing for the nurse. Any idea which of the agencies you mentioned book housing for u guys?
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla Год назад
@@shaimesh1 so most of the companies I've worked with use resources like corporate housing, hotels, just word of mouth from people calling them telling them they have housing available for travelers. A lot of the companies use hotels though. They have arrangements with certain ones to get discounts for travelers, but they aren't the best hotels most of the time. You can always Google top agencies and cold call them to let them know what you have available in your area, should they need to place travelers. That's been my experience thus far.

Do they still require covid shot? TY 😊
@travelnursecayla
@travelnursecayla Год назад
That is facility dependent. There are lots of facilities that still do and will not accept exemptions. Some requirements are state-specific as well. California and Alaska have been strict, for example. You would just let your recruiter know whether or not you'd need to look at exemption-only options :)
