I'm only 14 but I have always wanted to be a travel nurse(either pediatric or neurology) thank you so much for this info❤btw your apartment is beautiful🥰
I was the same way young lady! I started volunteering and working at the age of 15 in the hospital setting and join health care career clubs in high school that was very helpful so try these options if your parent agree and it’s available to you. Best of wishes to you on your endeavors.
Thank U for the video! Im a new grad that just got hired on a Labor&Delivery floor at a hospital in the South Suburbs about 30 mins south of Chicago! I plan to do travel nursing in 2022 after I get some experience on my floor. Nice apartment and the Vibes are 🔥😆
Omg I loveeee this video! I am a new travel nurse as well. I used Airbnb and hated it. 13 week assignment, super expensive! I love living in luxury as well floor to ceiling windows and just beautiful vibes! That’s what I have for my next go around lol. Thanks for the information! I also subscribed 💗 best of luck and stay safe 👩🏽⚕️👩🏽⚕️

Sonder sounds great. I don't mind paying more to live well. Cheap is not always good. You end up paying more in the end when you go too cheap. Thanks for the great, informative video.
My goodness. A cousin took a travel assignment at my hospital and got a hotel nearby and had to bail during the night because of noise and gunshots. Thankfully another cousin called me and my mom was able to provide a room until she found a place. Good to hear about experiences with the common rental places. I can't travel at this time but like the idea of getting some real estate and hosting to travelers.
Great apartment. I'm originally from Chicago, so I know that you got a fantastic spot, with a view of "Sear's Tower" you can't beat that !!!! Great find.
@@katnicoleharris Hi I actually have been for the last year. Great experience with the 1st traveler who renewed at our place for a calendar year. New Traveler arriving in 8 days.
This video was very informative. Some of these search engines i didn’t know of and I’ve been travel nursing for a year. Great video! And apartments goalsssss perioddddttt ‼️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗
As a traveling nurse , Will I be taxed in the state I work or the state I live in? Example if I work in California, newyork which payrate is higher will I Be taxed by those states or the state I live in?
Thank you for all of the useful information and resources, Nurse Queen! This could really helpful especially for those who dream to be a travel nurse. Continue to share such valuable videos!👍
If you do stay with someone and take the stipend, you technically can’t pocket all of it. If you get audited and that was the case, you definitely get in trouble. So if you wanna stay with a friend or family member, you should pay them “fair market value” for a room in their place. Which really won’t be that much out of your stipend anyways if you “rent” just a room from them
Sonder is good they even have a leasing option you can use and get an even lower rate than the website from a couple months to however long you like. It just gives them the option to take your unit off of the website so you dont have to be contantly booking over and over. The only downside is they will raise the rate on you if you extend so i wish i would have done a 2 year lease. I was paying $1500 for a large loft downtown then after my 6 month lease was up it was $2100 to renew. Now it is $2600 i heard they are telling long term tenants and this is all within under a year lol.
I just got into providing short term rentals in Memphis for travel nursing imwith my AIR BNB. I am watching to learn how to do this better and hope to let any travel nurses coming yo Memphis, I'd love to meet and accommodate you.
I have a beautiful fully furnished 3 bedroom rancher including dishes and cookware. There’s a one acre lake behind the house and it’s 15 minutes from a VCU Hospital. How do I market it to traveling nurses. My mother was an immaculate housekeeper so everything is spotless. I’m getting all new bedding.
Do you have your RN or RNbsn? And I’m currently a BSN nursing student in my prerequisites but I’m very tempted to go straight for my RN so I can begin working sooner and just work on my BSN while working. What do you suggest or any tips? Love your vids 💜💜
Thanks love! Honestly the only reason I did ADN first was bc that’s how my school offered it. If it’s more affordable to go straight for your BSN do that. But your program of choice has the opportunity to do ADN then bridge to BSN I always recommend that bc you’d be able to make money while bridging over to your BSN
Get your BSN! It looks good on a resume, & a lot of employers have started requiring it. However, in most places, RN’s w/an ADN make the same as those w/a BSN! The only difference is if you want to go into mgmt. For mgmt., a BSN or MSN is often required. In my 30th year as an RN, BSN!
Hi, your video is great and very insightful. I'm not too great at social media communication but soon will be. U mentioned needing a 3 bdrm and my property is under construction. Everything will b ready 2 rent the beg of the yr and my home is GORGEOUS....trust me. N Cali between 110 and 405 Frwy and walking distance of the new stadium. Ok, I'm a new b so wish me luck😉
I'm on my first assignment. Airbnb was not as described! Called host, no help there. Called airbnb and all they offer was half back. I didn't even stay 1 night! Not safe!! Any suggestions for getting full refund?
@@nursequeen2084 yess! thank you so much. i always originally was interested in women’s health but it didn’t seem like a lot of people did it with travel nursing more of L&D , ICU etc; i was worried i had to change my path. thank you so much
I absolutely love this rental. Please which of the search engines did you find it? Also do you have a direct link that will take me to the hotel or maybe the name? I would want to book it for my upcoming assignment with my friend.
I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment😅 but do you have a permanent place that you live at for like in between assignments? If you do are u renting it or do you own it? Also how does that work?
Usually I do! I’ll keep my apartment even though I’m duplicating expenses! For a long time I would travel from assignment to assignment and it was great financially bc I would save so much but it was mentally taxing bc I had no place to call home 😭
I have a very large home located in a Historic African American Community in Buffalo, New York. The home is 100 years old with updated kitchen, bathrooms, etc. I'm looking at providing traveling nurses with a nice place to stay. The lower apartment has nice size bed rooms. Plently of sitting, dinning room and commom area space available. Also a back yard. Can you possibly advise me on how to start and who to contact. Thanks.
I live in Surprise AZ near a Very large hospital and have room to rent especially for traveling nurses. It is a Banner Del Webb and our house is within 12 -13 minutes of our home. My question is how do traveling nurses find nice quiet places to stay after a shift?
If you let the company set up your housing, do they usually put you in a nice, furnished place? I worked w/some Traveler’s years ago when I Worked in L&D, & they were all in very nice apts. in the area (Chas., SC). I’ve been out of the hospital for a long time & am considering taking the opportunity to get back in to a hospital, but I’ve heard so many bad things about some of the places, I’m kind of afraid to! I’ve been an RN for 30 yrs. this year, & things have changed so much! Did you have a problem w/being given the really super crummy assignments or schedules on the units you worked in? That used to happen a lot in units I was in if you were a traveler or a floater.
Its varies for company chose housing. And yes , I've been to many facilities where i would get the expected c-sections, sickest moms, deceling babies etc. Nothing I couldn't handle though
I’m a 33 yr old male and I live in Atlanta. I’m looking to accommodate traveling nurses with my house in a subdivision. Would a female nurse feel uncomfortable sharing a house with a guy? Bed and bath all separate.
My answer is based solely off of me, but I’m gonna say yes. Atlanta is a big hub for human trafficking and sharing a home with a random guy would just make me uncomfortable in general.
@@erinp.1456 Thank you so much for your feedback.I think most women would agree with your response. I’ve been renting rooms to people(women) for about 3yrs now. Going forward I will solely focus on travel nurses and providing the very best experience for this sector. I know you can’t speak for everyone but is there anything that would make you feel more comfortable? Any feedback would be helpful, thanks.
@@fonzycooper9135 a good idea is to have your girlfriend/sister/or even mom in photos with you and living in the home with you. Single guys are notorious for trying to make moves on women 😂. Well what I’m trying to say is it makes them comfortable knowing that you’re committed and or have women living with you already.
@@mikeb4471 😂😂😂 I’ve lived with some very attractive women but I’ve never made any moves! Just not worth it in my opinion.. say 40yrs from now I’m a multi millionaire and women pop up and say I made moves on them while they were living with me. I would end up like Bill Cosby lol. You’re right tho, once other women report feeling safe, respected and me not being a creep this will help tremendously. I think my perks and hassle free process will also be a big selling point.
Is your sister a travel nurse too or do you just have someone travel with you every time? I have a major fear of traveling alone/staying in rooms along.
yes I agree! and yes my sister is a travel nurse as well but we haven't traveled together all the time. Sometime I travel alone to an assignment and it is scary..... my advice for you is to maybe try a hotel for a couple days to get settled, peep the scene/area and find a safe, clean place to live for the duration of your assignment. I've been on 12 assignments and I refuse to stay in a room in someones home, I'd rather get a hotel, or short term rental home.
@@nursequeen2084 thank you. I have a long way to go I’m still in school lol but I love your videos. I will have all the info I need by the time I graduate, thank you!
Hi I'm a homeowner interested in renting a beautiful private bedroom to a nurse in California but not sure where to start. Any ideas on what websites to use ?
i offer housing in the memphis, tn area and im considering transitioning to travel nurses, less traffic and my spot is really nice. how much are you guys alotted for stays? price range?
This is so helpful. I'm a travel Rad tech in cath lab/ IR. There are very few places to help Allied Health people. Do you recommend or have you stayed in extended stays? I'm probably taking a job in Athens Ga and not many choices. The in town suites reviews says they have bed bugs and people do meth outside. No thanks. Furnished finder doesn't have much either. Don't know what to do. Have you ever turned down an offer due to inadequate housing options? Thank you so much!! Subscribed!!
Yes I have turned down jobs bc of inadequate housing options. I’m a single , black female , I’m always cautious of the area etc. if you’re traveling alone to an unfamiliar setting , I would recommend an extended stay initially. Peep the scene. Is it safe? Close to work? Clean? And then extend there or pick the brain of other travelers / staff on the unit to find housing options
It’s a habit with long hair. I do that with long braids. But most importantly, it’s because she can!!!!!! It’s her hair! We tryna find housing and you on here trolling. Lol 😂
