Great video. Even if you didn’t get the shot you were after, I would dare to say that you left with a far richer experience than those who arrived at the park and secured their shooting locations only to stand next to their tripod for hours waiting. For what it’s worth: you’re lucky to have been able to drive that EV into the park. I was there a couple days before you were, and I had to take a shuttle into the park because a strict tire chain requirement was in effect (and I couldn’t and wouldn’t put chains on my rental car). Because of that, I missed out on seeing iconic Tunnel View. So you did have some luck on your side, after all. Anyway, enjoyed the video, and it was nice to reminisce over my own trip as I watched. Definitely go back and try again. Yosemite in the winter is the only time to go otherwise it’s not a national park it’s an amusement park. We go every single year in the snow and always love what we create but most importantly love the memories. Hope you make it back out soon
Good attempt - classic mistake of thinking you can plan this kinda experience ... you gotta get boots on the ground hours beforehand and start scouting vanage points ... Nature is unpredictable
I really hope the national parks cut the crap with not allowing youtubers and other social media platform content creators to freely record footage. The amount of money the parks have made BECAUSE of people's vlogs and recorded experiences from these parks has been growing annually and especially when COVID influenced thousands of people to build/buy overland rigs/RVs/Vans so that they could camp at these parks since flying was not allowed.
@Chris Brockhurst yeah I don't see their point and never will because as they define them, national parks are "public lands" and there's nothing "public" or accessible about denying people their first ammendment rights to record themselves on "public" lands. This is just another money grab from a government agency and another way of taking away our rights. Requiring a permit that if denied will not return your payment and having ridiculous and inconsistent requirements across all national parks and needing a permit for each park and each trip is a joke and unacceptable. So I'll agree to disagree on this one
