That monument at the end of the video is the Monument of Gratitude to France, for helping Serbia in WW 1.

Those are remains of Roman fortress of Singidunum,made before 1900 years.But its not the oldest sign of city- the oldest Is Vinca,few kilometers far,which Is the first city in Europe,4000 years ago.

That whole park was actual Belgrade for centuries and fortress walls were extending all the way to current Republic Square (where one of the main fortress gates was located), outer fortress falls and fortification were removed in 18/19th century to make space for urbanization of Belgrade, but still many streets in the old town are basically in the same position as streets of the old fortress or where walls were located. Upper part of Kalemegdan fortress was for military/nobility (there was even a big castle around the place of The Victor monument, destroyed in medieval times), while lower part was urban Belgrade with houses, buildings, towers, churches, river port (you can see how it looked in some old paintings from that time). Most of it was destroyed in many battles that took place there, and eventually in late 19th century made into a big park and recreational zone. For example Bajrakli Mosque built in 1575 is now outside fortress walls in city center, but it was inside the fortress at the time it was built.

Also i hope you actually went to the viewpoint from the fortress... it's my favorite spot in the whole of Belgrade as it offers amazing views of the city.
