Travel to Isle of Wight using Ferry, Southampton to East Cowes|| Isle of Wight Car Ferry 

Wanted to try it and found it is cripplingly expensive, too much for a spitting distance across such a small bit of water. £180+ 😮for a camper and two people

Top tips... if you do find the funds to come over to the iow with your vehicle, 1. Don’t expect the East cowes to Cowes floating bridge to be in operation, it’s nearly always not... 2. When returning, because of the lack of parking at Red Funnel, East Cowes, if you arrive too early, you’ll be told to drive away and return later😳🤔😱 In the town, just next to the ferry, is a supermarket, as seen in this vid, with a decent sized car park, pop in their and wait, it’s free if you do a little shopping there or alternatively the seafront ... Booking early will save a bit as well as travelling late or early in the day, islanders usually receive promotional vouchers twice a year, sent to all homes, so if you have a contact, that’s another great way to save a packet. Don’t be tempted to use a third party booking company, they are always much more expensive....
