Nice story. A simple remider of what we really love about Texas; a state of mind that revolves around neighborly people who laugh, play and work hard in a hostile diverse land.
I have traveled 205 of the 254 countries in this great state. I have been planning a ”parimeter” trip to Texas for several years now, great going ladies...
What a great story Diann and company. You all capture how wonderful it is to Travel Texas. And from the original Bob Phillips to my good friend, the other Bob Phillips, thanks for sharing their story!
I've always wanted to do this and pray I still may get to, idk about u but I choked up when Bob asked that question as well. Folks pray for The Great State of Texas our President & Melania give thanks to the Lord our God for all we've been blessed with!!! God bless TCR!!!
Mis más sinceras felicitaciones para estas tres señoras, maravilloso paseó, saludos cordiales desde Esmeraldas-Ecuador, soy un gran admirador del estado de Texas 👍👏🤠
I was born and raised in TEXAS. I have driven a semi truck for 23yrs so far and I have driven the perimeter of TEXAS. But not in a single trip. I have been in every state in the country. And TEXAS is the one I love the most.
I was born in and raised in Houston, But left when my mom came back to her home state of Hawaii and we had no choice. You go where mom goes as a child. Never been back. I lost out on being raised in Texas.
Diann Bayes oh, for sure, I’ve thought about it over the years and hopefully can make it happen one day. I know it’d be a blast. Just need to find a week or so in my schedule to line up with a traveling companion. 🙂
Inspiring! This trip is on my bucket list because even though I've lived here all my life, I've probably only seen a very small portion of it. We aren't Southern and we aren't Western, we are TEXAN!
I was born in Texas. Due to family situations, I spent 6 years of my childhood out of the state. Moved back and graduated. Joined the military and left, been gone 23 years. Due to choices the wife and I made, we won’t be moving back anytime soon BUT, I am a Texan and will always been a Texan!
Diann Bayes makes sense. What would be the optimal time, if days off were not an issue? I realize this could be an unending answer; there has to be a balance between rushed and too much time. Looks like it was a great adventure :).
There is video series on RU-vid of a group doing this but much closer to the Texas border. Many of the roads they took were unpaved and at times on private land ( with owners premission). I'm still waiting on someone to film all the Texas court houses road trip series. I'm picky. It needs to be one long continuous road trip. Not broken into to segments. Once they start there's no stopping. Am I asking for too much?
@@diannbayes8620 Working on it. The goal would be the most outer route possible on public roads, trails etc. When the entire route is finalized make it public.
@@googleuser8660 I can't remember the channel name but I think it was in seven parts. Search RU-vid and post link here. I'd like to watch it again. PS it was very overland (4X4) style.
There biggest mistake, trying to make that great trip in that amount of time so they could just say they had done it. I'm sure they missed out on so much of the real Texas and meet more people.
We were limited on our time since we all work. I plan to spend more time in some of the locations I hadn’t visited. I’ve been to most of the places we went through prior to the trip. Who knows? My blog tells more of the story - www.howbigistexas.com
Having a real job sucks. :) I also follow Traveling Robert that does lot's of of great videos of off the beaten path places, but it drives me nuts when almost every time he finds an interesting place he says, I'll have to come back some time and check it out .
Unfortunately, you can’t actually drive the perimeter of Alaska. Plus, this is about Texas and not Alaska. I hope someone from Alaska decided to drive their state. I’d watch that. 😀
