lol in Germany, we make fun of the DB all the time because our public transport is corrupt as hell and controlled by the big car companys (Daimler, BMW, VW, Audi, Porsche) who deliberately makes them bad, expensive and late. Sad to hear that you have it worse in the US.

Well, we have the interstate system where you can drive all over the US. Europeans love to rent an RV and drive the US. Us Americans go to Europe and love their trains. So it just depends on what you want to do. You can take a cheap flight with a budget airline and get to your destination quicker.

they made it look like it‘s one train company, but actually the ticket just allows you to get on different trains in different countries. it seemed they took the expensive version too, in order to be in first class. but even in the regular class, going by trains through Europe is fantastic

The only practical places are the North East and the West Coast. They have the population density. Other places have too much wide open spaces. Then there are problems getting the land and protecting the lines from vandals. It would take years, if not decades of court fights to get the necessary land.

Oh, I did one of these trips with a friend of mine this summer. It was awesome. We went from Berlin to Basel, than to Barcelona and afterwards via Paris and Bruxelles to Amsterdam and back to Berlin. It was so much fun. 😃

8:13 - If you have never had one of these before, theyre called "Chimney Cakes" and yes, they're as delicious as they look. They vary a bit by country, but normally in Prague (especially in the summer) they'll fill them with ice cream and nutella usually topped off with whipped creme. In Winter theyre smothered in sugar and cinnamon.

3 weeks of eurpopa including flight tickets. Will costs you around 2.5k. Flights start at $6 (low season)

@@alliemay616 nope you have 30 travel days (which you often even can spread out longer than 30 days), a travel day means you can take all trains you want for 24 hours. And with this pass you have 30 of these travel days :) for some you have to buy additional reservations. But it's indeed very cheap way to get around in Europe. For Europeans it's called interrail and is often even a little cheaper :)

3:56 Tunnel Fact! The 2 tunnel machines that dug the Chunnel (Channel Tunnel) started on the opposite ends in England and France, when they got to the middle they just had the UK one turn slightly off the tunnel path and sealed the machine inside.

I was also using eurail during my euro trip. It was a pleasant experience, but you need to be aware that their customer service response time are sucks. Also, the train system is pretty confusing as your ticket and seat reservation are two different item, so you need to have both of them.

Mac Hop get an interail pass (if you are under 27 it‘s super cheap) i‘d recommend 7 days in 1 month (2. class is 250€ something) that means you can take the train on 7 days within a month and i‘d say you should definitely visit the netherlands, austria, italy, hungary those countries are my favourite!! switzerland is very beautiful but SO FRICKIN EXPENSIVE you can’t even imagine. if you are travelling on a budget you should stay in hostels (it’s what most young people do, you’ll meet a lot of students and it’s super fun if you are open to it) or airbnbs (if you travel with someone else)
