Montenegro has been super high on Trey’s travel bucket list for awhile, but we never thought we’d travel there from a city as far away as London. But when we found SUPER CHEAP flights, we kinda felt like we had to! Come along as we brave just about every means of transportation under the sun🤣
We begin in the morning after waking up in our Airbnb in the Fulham neighborhood of West London. We make our way down the street & onto the bus that would take us all the way to the High Street Kensington station. From there we would be taking the Circle Line all the way to Liverpool Street Station in the center of London. After arriving at the station we quickly found the entrance to the Stansted Express train that would take us the 50 minute journey to London Stansted Airport.
The ride was extremely smooth & we pulled into London Stansted Airport well before our scheduled departure time. Once we made our way through an extremely difficult security process, we walked into arguably the best lounge we’ve found in Europe thus far. The Escape Lounge had a variety of different food/beverage options that would satisfy anyone’s needs. We got coffee, salad, hot food, & even indulged in a couple of sweet options. After having an amazing experience at this lounge, we made our way to the gate to board our Ryanair flight to PODGORICA, MONTENEGRO!! We took a tram to the terminal, made our way down the hallway stairs, back up the stairway into the aircraft, & right into our seats for the two hour & forty minute flight to the Balkans. The flight was fairly uneventful & mostly pleasant. We arrived under the cover of darkness, which added to the suspense of landing in a new country.
Once we deplaned, we made our way into the very small terminal in the Podgorica Airport & over to the AVIS counter where we got the keys to our small blue Dacia car. We had some hiccups with the cell service in Podgorica but that didn’t stop us from making the 20 minute drive north into the city where our Airbnb was located. We checked in around 10:30 pm exhausted but excited for what was to come.
