I just love Palermo. The energy, the food, the people, the history, the culture. Just walking aroud gives such a bust. The only thing I missed was the large market that they have in Catania. But apart from that great place to visit!

By far the best video I’ve seen so far on Sicily! I am travelling to Palmero in March with my two children. My son is planning on staying for a few months. So excited to experience this beautiful place. Thanks again for the great video and information!

Came across your video today and found it very entertaining and informative. My GF and I have been to Venice, Florence, and Milan on past trips and we love Italy. Our cruise in May will take us to Naples, Livorno, Civitavecchia and due to a change in itinerary we will stop in Palermo. Looking forward to trying the street food and soaking up the local vibe.

Wow. I loved your video. Thanks. 1) my wife and I were planning a trip to Rome 2) but we bought tickets to Sicily! 3) So we will start learning about your city and island. Perhaps our watching Inspector Montelbano influenced our decision! Your video was captivating... you kept the speed up so I looked to see if I had the play speed up at 1.25

Ciao! Thank you so much for watching the video and for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you and your wife have decided to visit Sicily; you're in for an amazing experience. Regarding the video's speed, that's really valuable feedback. Do you think I should slow down a bit to improve the viewing experience? Your input could help me enhance my content even further! Grazie mille

I really enjoyed my vacation time in Palermo. But, like many other cities, all the graffiti on so many beautiful buildings saddens me. It's a shame that so many cause such an eyesore. I still cannot wait to go back.

Ciao! The best way to get from the city center to Mondello beach without a car is by taking the bus. You can hop on the 806 bus, which runs from Politeama area, and it’ll take you straight to Mondello

Erice, Cefalu, Bagheria...

Thanks so much for the kind words and for choosing Palermo for your trip! It's awesome you're planning to explore beyond the city too. Definitely, the places you've got in mind, like Erice, Cefalù and are great picks. It really comes down to what you're into, but I'd also suggest considering San Vito Lo Capo and Agrigento-both are incredible. Thank for this video. I am thinking of to go with my 5 years old son to go there next week. I am wondering if it is safe for a single mother with son, also would it be a bit too boring for a kid to go those sightseeing places? Thx
@WeArePalermo
@WeArePalermo 10 месяцев назад
Ciao! While sightseeing in Palermo might be captivating for adults, for a 5-year-old, it really depends on the kid. Some might find the historical sights a bit of a yawn. However, there are attractions that could really catch their fancy, like the Museum of Geology "G. G. Gemmellaro." It's a great spot for kids, especially those who are into dinosaurs and all things prehistoric. Also, for your peace of mind, Palermo is generally safe for a single mother traveling with her child. But to make your trip even smoother, I'd recommend checking out this video on where to stay in Palermo with kids: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-88tx1WwqSFA.html. It’s tailored to help you find the most family-friendly areas. Happy travels!

Generally speaking, would you recommend staying in the Kalsa area?
@WeArePalermo
@WeArePalermo 10 месяцев назад
Absolutely, Kalsa is a significant part of the historic center and I would generally recommend staying there. However, just like any urban area, there are a few streets within Kalsa that might be best to steer clear of. I've discussed this in more detail in my accommodation video. Give it a watch here for a deeper dive into the best spots and those to be cautious about: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O8qtK-xBlfw.htmlsi=C1kVTypikGHiShmg&t=135

For the e-scooters what app do I need?
@WeArePalermo
@WeArePalermo 6 месяцев назад
Lime, Bird, and Superpedestrian are your go-to apps. You can find them on both the Android and Apple stores. To save some cash, consider opting for a weekly plan or a subscription for the days you'll be using them.
@chibiniii
@chibiniii 6 месяцев назад
@@WeArePalermo Thank you for the response. I‘m wondering if I‘d be able to get to Mondello by e-scooter or is it to far away / region not supported?
@WeArePalermo
@WeArePalermo 6 месяцев назад
You could technically ride an e-scooter to Mondello, but honestly, it's too far and not worth the hassle. Plus, you can't park scooters in the middle zone between Mondello and the city center. So, if your battery dies midway, the app won't let you park there, and you'd have to drag the scooter all the way back to the city center or Mondello.@@chibiniii

I recently visited Palermo, I am afraid to say that the streets are filled with rubbish and debris. This was not only in the poorer areas this was every street. I would never recommend Palermo as a destination. I would strongly suggest Take the train from the Airport, Once you arrive at the central station, find a connecting train and leave for another part of the country instantly, the tourist areas on the south coast and on the west coast like Cefalu are the hugely different and safer and cleaner.

Ciao there! Before you completely write off Palermo, I'd suggest a quick peek at this video. From 2:26 to 15:15, it paints a vivid picture of the city's vast cultural tapestry, which may have evaded your notice during your visit. For a deeper dive into the whole rubbish situation, do check out the segment from 29:58 to 32:55. Seeing both sides often gives a fuller understanding. Hope this broadens your perspective😉
