Travelling from Bristol Airport to Lisbon, Portugal, via Porto
In this vlog we set out from Bristol Central Travelodge and drive to the Airport Tavern to park the car. We then take the airport shuttle transfer to Bristol Airport. From here we take an Easyjet flight to Porto. We then take the Metro from Porto Airport to Campanhã, and then a mainline train all the way down to Lisbon, Portugal.
There will be MANY more Lisbon vlogs to follow!

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We love getting out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.

Ha ha! The weather was abismal for most of the nine days we were there, but it’s meant that Portugal hasn’t had such devastating forest fires this year, so I’m glad. There’s a whole play list of every day of the trip if you ever get curious. The one after this features some pretty impressive downpours. Hee hee! Thanks so much for stopping by. X

Hahaha our gps does that all the time :) We seem to always be "in the middle of nowhere" according to it's coordinates! Such a cool app to tell you the word for things. I need that! Very handy indeed! Looks like a lovely flight! I always love looking out the window too during takeoff :)

Take off’s my favourite bit. The app is a free one called Memrise. I love it for learning languages. Mostly it’s a progressive course. There are components that you can opt to pay for but so far I’ve made a lot of progress for free. X

Aw, Thanks OMGBEKKAG. Hey - that app doesn't work so well in low light, as I discovered a few days later, trying to demonstrate it to a friend indoors, where it wasn't lit well. It was getting all the words wrong! It was pretty funny though.

I raced my Caterham in Porto once (well 3 races that weekend). It was great. I had always wanted to race on a street circuit and wasn't disappointed. No run-off and only Armco or concrete to hit if you made a mistake. The nearest I will ever get to racing in Monaco.

I raced in France (Croix), Porto, Belgium at the wonderful Spa Grand Prix circuit 4 times and also Zolder and Zandvoort in Holland.

So that's where those life vests are ("in the unlikely even of a water landing" -- yeah, right). I never could feel them or see them. I've never noticed that pressure effect on packaging. Great bridges -- Clifton and the pretty one on the way in from the airport. I take it that the old style toilets on the trains where one dumps directly down onto the train tracks and one gets a hurricane force wind up the old fundament have gone by the wayside.

You didn't get it, yes is a flood but is a normal flood when it rains a lot. The riverbanks get flooded, it's normal. The river is higher because of the rain. No one is hurt

:: 0:39 sat nav!? You have a iPhone now, you should check out Google Maps or Waze navigation, if you have a strong data plan. Or "Here Now" (by Nokia) for free, offline maps. They will have more up-to-date roads. Sat navs are like a year old when they are sold, and smarphone apps will have live user-edited road info, like construction, or pot holes.

Raya broke my phone this week, but as soon as I can get a new one I'll have to get that app! So cool! Too bad it couldn't detect Invisible Boyfriend, though. 😂 I'm not sure if I somehow missed it, but why did you decide to travel to Lisbon, Portugal? I'm not familiar with Portugal, so I was curious as to what drew you to travel to that particular area.. This looked like a really long day of traveling. Hello! Nice to meet you. Yes, I fell in love with Portugal on my first trip and have longed to live there ever since. The app is Memrise. It’s a progressive free language learning app, and the explore option shown is this video is just one additional aspect of it. You can use it to generate Flashcards (well - on screen ones) with snaps of objects you find whilst out and about. It doesn’t work so well in low light though - ha ha!
