Gongtao, The differences in Gold and Platinum on the ETS is in the stops served. The train is the same is more of the journey time. Platinum does have one more car on it sometimes called KTM business class but that is not a given. Edit: The trains you see the seats are different is because one is a older train one is a newer train

Great video! I'll be flying to Chiang Mai early next month, but haven't bought a return ticket yet and train ride is really tempting to me just for the experience alone. Whats the damage for this whole trip from CNX to SG? And do you have to book all the tickets in advance or can you just buy them at the station as you go? Time is not a problem for me, just want to have a fun experience.

Done my solo trip from SG to BKK Via overland. All i can say is that it was worth the journey! The sceneries inbetween Hatyai to BKK was surreal especially the sunrise in Huahin. Definitely gonna try it again but this time round to Laos, Vientiane.
