So jealous of your Era's bracelets 😍 Your mental health comes first! Definitely filming & editing is hard 🥲 I'm glad you had some awesome travels in though! I'm so happy that the agents are loving the copy. I hope that you finish it at best pace for YOU. I'm sure there will be more agents in the future too!
Ahah those bracelets were A LOT of work, I’m not gonna lie 😅 but they were fun to make and I’m really proud of the result. Thanks! It still feels a very long way off before I can start querying, but progress over perfection! 💪 We’ll get there in due time
So good to have a little catchup with you 😊 I don’t mind that it’s “late”, sometimes we’re busy and so just like meeting a friend for coffee, sometimes it’s a week to catch up on and sometimes a year. Or ten. This monthly schedule that we all put ourselves in is just made up, and I like just hearing about what you’ve been up to and where you are at with everything. I really like the random faves, a jacket or a show, or whatever. I don’t think you need to add more specifics to the agenda, but feel free to add anything that’s on your mind or you know… aktuellt in your life! Im glad to hear you’re making progress with your novel! Keep filling the well and be kind to yourself, sounds good. And to the novel. I see it as a plant almost, can’t rush a tomato, can’t rush a novel 😅 maybe some people can haha but it should be a somewhat enjoyable process too, right? I know you know all that. Just cheering you on 😊
Ahah, yes, the monthly schedule is arbitrary, but if I wait too long to film those reviews, then I forget so much XD So I'd like to film those earlier if I can, if only to make it easier to myself and also because I like having this little record of my life, but if I only remember the big stuff by the time I film, I feel like it loses a bit of its value, because that's what I'm most likely to remember even without making the video, if that makes sense? I love that comparison of the novel to a plant ^^ You need to feed it, prune it sometimes too, but it gives you back in enjoyment (and even nutrient if its a tomato plant)
This was such a cosy way to have my morning coffee! I must know the name of your sweet puppy? 😍 The Norse Gods book is stunning! Totally know the feeling of writing from a dry well. I def felt that in my last round of revisions and honestly, I can see the point I got burnt out inbthe quality of my writing, so take your time! Not a fast book, but a good book is such a good mantra, and a hard one to remember sometimes 😅 Also exciting you were long listed for the grant! Do you have an academic background in writing by chance? 11:43 beautiful montage, but super cool mushroom!
Oh, well, thank you for having me over for morning coffee, I'm honored ^^ Ahah, his name is Alfred and he's an old grumpy chap! Yeah, it's hard to pace yourself, sometimes. But I'm learning my lesson. If I try to rush things, I pay for it later so it's not worth it. Thank you! It was super exciting indeed. I was really not expecting it. I did one of the first MAs in creative writing in France like 10 years ago (ouch... I'm feeling old), but I think it was pretty different from those in North America. I feel there is a bit a culture of "you can't teach people to write, it's a natural talent" in France, which is why those MAs are still so new. And the approach was quite different (not so much actual writing, or then just the teacher giving you a topic and you having to write about it on the spot which I so profoundly hated ^^')
I'm glad you were able to take the last couple months more slowly. Mental and physical health is more important than RU-vid! I hope you are feeling a bit better now. That's amazing you made it past the first stage for the grant! Thanks for sharing everything about your writing, especially at the end there. I actually just filmed a writing update this morning and I was talking about writing while uninspired and whether or not I should push through to finish it or not. I like the analogy of the empty well. I am on my 3rd goal for my first draft....originally I wanted to finish in the summer and that didn't happen. Then I was going to finish in October and it's quite doubtful that will happen. So now I am hoping to finish by the end of the year? Question mark? Honestly I'm not sure. And that feels a little discouraging but also....you are so right, it's okay to be slow. There is no real "behind schedule" right now when I can literally take the time I need to get my writing where I want it. I hope that inspiration starts flowing again for you and that your creative well fills back up!
@@Curious-Cat Yesss!! 👏👏Love that. I think sometimes I get frustrated at myself when I'm not sitting down and writing instead of remembering that there are so many other aspects of the process that I don't give myself credit for.
