Travis AFB KC-10 taxiing and departing from RAF Mildenhall (with a cameo from some F15Es)

We were lucky to catch the soon-to-be retiring KC-10 Extender, from Travis Air Force Base, at RAF Mildenhall.
The aircraft was accompanying Trend 95 & 96, two F15Es from nearby RAF Lakenheath, across the Atlantic to America to join the Red Flag exercise.
The KC10 is due to be retired by 30th September 2024 with the KC-46 Pegasus taking over in the aerial refuelling role.

Always loved the looks of the big tri-jets! DC-10s, L1011s, beautiful lines.👍 Nothing like a F-15 flyby to make the video better!!😄😄

Great film mate,wonderful aircraft.Had the honour of helping to unload the first one to ever leave the USA. Brought 6 A7 Corsairs from Oaklahoma ANG to RAF Wittering..Still hav the KC10 test team baseball cap.did a few more down the years..Sad to see them go..👍

They're going to be replaced by the KC-46 Pegasus.

This is essentially a DC10 Nothing special about it except that is has been re-configure for a tanker. It is now an obsolete aircraft.

dumbest comment ever, totally different cockpit from a DC-10 since the mod, it is not obsolete, it is still being used until it is retired, they need 2-3 KC46's or KC135's do do the job of one KC-10 and have to screw a drogue on the boom of the 135 to do a drogue mission

That’s their job! They do it here over Massachusetts with Tankers from Pease AFB NH…104th FW has F-15c/d and Westover has C-5Ms…Westover has a few F-15E LN that are here on TDY…Haven’t you ever been in the military?!
