Travis is going to run for office some day as some kind of politician. There is an obvious linear narrative to this guy. He is brilliant and will change the world.
Uber is like a VISA card of transportation ! Bravo Travis. I have spoken to many Uber drivers all over India and they have told me their life styles have become more comfortable...
Thank God and Travis Kalanick for Uber! I now have a part time, flexible career where I'm not micromanaged by uptight hovering supervisors. I have some health issues that prevent me from being on my feet for hours on end. Uber provides me a job that allows me to work pain free. I enjoy meeting new people and learning new routes around the city. This is the most innovative company I've ever worked for! Travis Kalanick has created millions of jobs for people just like me, I am so grateful for your brilliant idea, and God bless you for the jobs you have created in America and around the world. I'm on your side, and my/our passengers love the great service and genius software application you've generated. BRILLIANT!!!
I do not use the service, nor do I support corporate slaves. Uber expects their "driver partners" to pay out of the minimum wage pay they get. I support taxis that play by the rules set by the municipalities that benefit the customer and driver. Most taxi companies already have the technology before uber. People want to save 5-10 bucks. I rather be a taxi driver that is protected. You can continue working for uber waiting for the ding, I have a career thanks for your advice though.
i always thought it was a car sharing idea.. aka people volunteering to help another peer out. Going the same way, so I'll pick you up, etc.. I never knew or thought it was just a taxi service which uses an app rather than hailing. For a company that is a billion + you'd think that you would give the drivers a much higher percentage and allow them to take tips. I feel there is just a huge influx now and there is just too much supply over the demand. you don't want uber cars to just sit and wait.. thats no different from taxis all waiting for a job. having 10-20 cars in the area is fine, having 100s in the same area is starting to get bad. Unless they change their way and be more sincere and honest, I feel there is going to be a huge backlash on this company very soon no matter how much 'positive' pr they do.
The backlash has started. On Twitter it's know as #ubered. It's not worth what they say it is. Just given that price so more people put money into it thinking they will earn then it will crash and the money will suddenly disappear.
My sister is a teacher in London and she finds it hard to keep up with street/slang talk, but she told me that the new word for lost is Uber. I.e. Do you understand? No miss.... Ummmm I'm ubered. Funny how things change so quickly. Maybe next there will be a #uberloser message. Just thought I'd share.
