In a head-to-head for the ages, the King of the Kootenays Dustin Craven faced off with the man who has pushed the progression of backcountry snowboarding more than any other rider in history, Travis Rice. In a heated, two-run match-up, Craven and Rice went blow for blow until the winner was decided, and when the snow settled, it was Dusty who advanced on to men’s Finals against the winner of Ben Ferguson vs. Mikkel Bang. These two riders put down some of the best runs of the day and when all was said and done, Craven took out the arguable favorite coming into the 2022 TAE Natural Selection at Baldface.
