I think we’re upset that we KNOW it’s a popularity contest and for all purposes he put out an extremely good project that was one of the most listened to albums in his respective genre (aka “popular”) and still got snubbed. At least, that’s what I’m upset ab.
I personally dont care about popularity i agree that the Grammys is a popularity contest but imo Nas or Travis or Metro should’ve won, Killer Mike’s album wasn’t even bad it was just very mediocre compared to the projects dropped by the artists i mentioned

The rap people miss is something that wasn’t seen as real music, it was fought for to be seen as such and the pioneers of rap were all for inventive and new music, that traditional music listeners hated, and young people loved, that’s what rap was about! Its almost like they’ve been fighting for it for so long that they’ve forgotten what it was, like nostalgia for the old sound is what they’re looking for and a “traditional rap” which goes against rap all together. This is what young people are listening to, is breaking boundaries, and records, it deserved the win
You mean something that’s been around since before you were born. And something that will be probably around for another 10 years. Trust me, Travis Scott will be gone within five tops one of the most overrated artist of all time this whole song was just him saying the same word over and over again, it was just terrible
