Travis Scott - Owl Pharaoh EP / MIXTAPE / ALBUM REVIEW 

Travis is probably one of the most creative artists in this day and age. His beats are dope and he's a good rapper. Listen to some of his older shit. I wouldn't be surprised if he blew up in a few years.

Watching this seven years later and Travis is top tier in the world.

Never give him 3 years cuz ya hes already 21 well when hes 24 hes gonna be beast.

Travis doesn't "bite" off of anyone. He's just heavily influenced by other artist & you can hear it in his music. I think he's extremely underrated & bashed because he's "different". His shit is fiiiiiiiiiire ! Xx

Watched this 1 year and 1 day ago, and by this project not getting a high rating made me want to listen to it. I still have the entire project in my playlist 1 year later and I still listen to this daily. I have no explanation for why or how, I just like it, the beauty of music I guess

one of the most rushed and messy projects ever, but behind it all there was so much potential and it reached the surface on a few tracks. It wasn't clean but it was interesting and rodeo capitalized on its mistakes.

Travis Scott has a dark rap sound not many rappers have. it's unique, Earl sweatshirt has that dark vibe as well. I dunno why he said he was bitting flow.

I'm not gonna lie when I first heard Shit On You I thought it was Cudi and I honestly didn't like Dancing On The Moon BUT with all that said I think the rest of this EP was dope.I think Drive was the most original song on the whole thing.Personally I think you're being knit picky about this.

Full version of Owl Pharaoh is much better. The version with the 2 Chainz verse on Upper Echelon and 16 Chapels.

My guess is that you got a poor download link of some sort because I had no problem with unintelligible lyrics. I love this album and it is my favorite mixtape release. His lyrics could use work and Hell Of A Night sounds like a ripoff of Kanye but the rest of this album has incredible production. The forward thinking production on this album is unlike anything I have ever heard. You seem to give big hype releases poor ratings and give justification, however, if that justification isn't consistent with other ratings you give, it is at times, tough to consider your reviews anything more than entertainment for me. On Blocka La Flame, there was not much of a difference between the original beat so I have no idea how you are saying Young Chop should rip out his hair. All he did was add a few more synths to make it a little louder and progressive. Obviously everybody has different views on music and we all like different things but when you give this mixtape a 3 but give Michael Cera's new album a 5, it is tough for me to take these seriously anymore.

His beats and tracks on Owl Pharaoh are setup very intricate and orchestral, it takes a good ear to really put together exactly what’s coming out of the speakers. That shit is still amazing to this day.

I don't think Anthony has done enough listening of this album, it was fucking good. He needs to do a bit more research about Travis recent productions and songs like Phoenix and 12 Disciples.

Man everybody needs to chill. He did a legit review, the only track travis produced on his own was drive and that shit was sloppy and unorganized af. And Travis didn't say anything that was impressive.

I really dug the production, really carried the project... It stayed varied throughout the project and the tracks themselves. Travis also has a really nice flow on most of these songs. interesting and creative overall

Rodeo is incredible. Big fan of that album. Coming back to listen to owl pharaoh though, I was REALLY disappointed.

In my opinion, Owl Pharaoh is 4, DBR is like 6 or 7, Rodeo is 8 abd BITTSM is 5 or 6.

Haven't heard the EP yet but didn't Anthony speak about the originality and how it doesn't matter to him that much? Or does the obvious influences have to be certain age that you can rip them off? I my self vote for the originality although I know how things are just a continuum. My point is just that Anthony said he didn't mind if it is total rip off if it sounds good. Or did he?

Travis had the potential to drop a sick debut projct, he just finished working in yeezus, cruel winter and if you're reading this its to late and he dropped this... I'm a huge fan so in a way I liked it but this was his worst project, but it was his first so no harm done. And the best thing is about Travis Scott is that he got better and better every project.

wow.. give the album another chance, some songs are really good on this like drive (w/o the long unnecessary intro), hell of a night, bad mood, uptown, bandz (which is one of the best bangers ive heard in a while, though its not properly mixed on this version on owl pharaoh) and naked has alot of potential (on the full version its a lot longer and features bon iver and cudi i think)

I expected alot more from travis especially for the co signs he has. However, he is a new artist that has major potential/resources to put together a crisp album. As far as sampling/biting, thats bound to happen with some artists especially young artist who are avid listeners of pop rap and are in tune with rap culture. I see the potential he has to be a triple threat which makes him an asset to any rap group.

lyrical content is not travis strong suit, but it's his creativity and sound that makes him interesting

Travi$' lyrical performance was indeed nothing out of the ordinary - but he surely compensates for that with his amazing production! Some of the tracks are indeed flawed, but saying that there are no memorable beats on here... damn bro: Quintana, Bandz, Upper Echelon are all straight bangers. I'd say they're even radio material.

i completely agree. the way this project was hyped up, i was expecting something i never heard before, or something really unique. i'm hoping the iTunes version ends up a LOT better than this unfinished, almost final tape.

I know this video is old but I think you left a couple important tracks out. The good one was Uptown (feat. A$AP Ferg), which has a really hard, dark beat produced by Wondagurl, who also produced "Crown" on Jay Z's latest album, Magna Carta... Holy Grail, and Travi$ Scott actually has a better flow on this track than most of the other songs on this project. The not so good one is Quintana (feat. Wale), which pretty much sounds like a generic auto-tuned trap song (even though I like the beat). Just a little thing to add. Thank you.

the only thing I don't like about the new outro speach is the "all mistakes were intentional" line, that's just original like the owl pharaoh himself...

i would agree on this is a bad record but he have allot of potential and if he had teamed up with a more mainstream producer it would turn out to be good, his sound is really unique in my ears, and i like the theme hes in musically!!
