Fun video! I would strongly suggest getting a better LIPO. I ran that same Ovonic in mine and it only went 71 mph. With a higher performance LIPO I was getting 75 to 77 mph depending on the one I was running. I have tons of speed testing with my Bandit during battery testing on my channel.👍 I had to add some weight to the front and ditch the wing really helped keep the front down. I am in Delaware so not far from you! 👍

@phillybrc unfortunately I don't have any videos of since I didn't have a GPS I strapped my phone in it, which also helped weigh it down I got 103 with a 26t pinion and 36t spur mod 1 gears silpper clutch eliminator rpm rear bearing carries so I could fit bigger bearings and I just used a arrma blx 6s but broken parts on the thing and building when 13 I didn't have money to keep dumping into but I still got it might build it again but it really was the perfect budget speed run build i mean it's so damn stock just 6s
My buddy has the exact same car with the same setup in it except for the remote. I can't wait to see what kind of numbers you can get with this setup I know my buddy is gonna be excited
Ya, a smaller mah would be a good approach. Your Rustler has similar battery compartment i would think? Im not sure about the 4000kv motor on 4s lol. Couple blasts may not hurt it!
@@phillybrc I am still running 48 pitch but with the stock 48 pitch 76t spur gear and a 35t pinion I hit 77 mph. It has more in it for sure. I got a 72t spur and a 38t pinion I am going to run soon but my spur gear is a little lose and I think the bearing is toast so I have to fix that first.🙁 In theory with equal gearing yours should be several mph faster than mine (4000 vs 3500 kv). I am going to follow your progress for sure!!!
Tape rear of wing 1/2 " down from top, keep tape straight on both sides. Now, cut all above tape. Keeps the stock look with less air resistance & front end rise. What your doing will decrease wings height & I should have been more clear. The tape is just a visual to guide Scissors :)
Ditch the 4000kv motor for ebay Queens hobbies motor. Paid $30 for my 2700kv motor in my 4's slash. Switching to .08 gearing is the best thing you've done!! High Kv is almost never a good idea if going for speed runs. Heat central on 3's
