Just so you have an idea of how much this costs, including just the bare motor no air cleaner header or anything like that it cost somewhere between $400-500...
***** i just used big block mounts... i had to re-slot the chassis to make it fit but the motor and mounts are so big i was only able to get 3 of the skrews on the hold the mount on the chassis... the 4th hole on the motor mount for the skrew is hanging over the spot where the 3.3 fly wheel would be
i cant remember what gear i had but i was pretty limited on ratio due to the fact the motor was now sitting closer to the trans... i bought the smallest clutch bell my hobby store had (2nd smallest was too big) and i had select spur gears that would just fit. if i had to do it again i would move the motor forward slightly so i had more ratio options
Nothing much... all’s I did was buy a big block motor mount and make new holes/slots in the frame... the only shitty thing is I couldn’t really find much as far as gear ratios go because the motor was so close to the tranny I had to go with a SUPER small pinion and a small spur... it’s been so long since I messed with it so I can’t tell you the ratios but it was such a big gear reduction I had the back the screw for second gear all the way out so it’s only in second... the only other thing was I had to buy a new header and flip it around so the stock jato pipe is over the motor, otherwise it wouldn’t have fit
no I had to get the biggest pinion gear they had and I think I have a 52 or a 56 ring gear... the the trans is still stock PLASTIC... it handles it but I still have to rebuild it about once a month or so
Nice. I hv the 52-24 then I'm gonna try the 50-26. I haven't ran mine yet. the carb stopped me from trying different gearing. Lol. How fast you think u had went?
+King King well... a stock Jaco goes 70 out the box... I haven't went on a long enough road to get it up to speed... but I'd say around 90 maybe... I can't really hammer it when it's in second because it'll just lift the tries... I also put taller mud tires on the back made for an e-revo
I have been trying to get a BB conversion kit for awhile. All i see is new era conversion kit but that website is no longer up. Any luck on a link to get a BB kit for my jato and i have this monster sitting around waiting to destroy tires. I just went to my local rc shop and got just a bb mount... I had to make new slots for the mount... anything to do with the motor besides the mount I had to fabricate myself
