TRAXXAS MAXX V2 - 5th Run. Xmaxx Servo and lowered gearing.

Maxx V2 at usual spot. Running 6500mah 100c 4S battery by DXF (Gold series). Installed the stock Xmaxx servo. Fitted a Hardened steel Pinion 22 tooth (Stock is 23 and not hardened steel on the V2 maxx - ignore the sizes I say in video!). Fitted a £20 aluminium “Gear Cover” from eBay. Replaced the upper and lower rear bulk heads due to misalignment likely from bouncing on the back end on one of my early runs. Combination of new hardened gears, aluminium gear cover and new bulkheads seems to have cured meshing/stripping issues! #traxxas #maxx #rc

Great vid of the maxx ripping about👍 The steering bellcranks wear out quick on these however at 12 quid for a new one isn't too bad, however I'd reccomend getting a metal one from gpm that works really well. Glad the gear issue is sorted.

I’ll look at that. Does the servo saver wear quickly too? Anyway to lock the bugger down? On xmaxxx you can run a longer bolt through and then put a nut on to keep it tight.

@SnoriRC the servo saver is built into the bellcrank and to be honest I've not had much luck trying to put a bolt through with a nut as there is limited space between the part and the bearing it sits on. The gpm part is adjustable and way way better than stock. People have put washers etc into the stock saver to put more tension on the spring but since it screws into plastic it's only ever ripped the threads clean out for me🫣

NEGATIVES - servo tabs broke (not stock - stock ones perfect still). Stripped plastic spur. Done 2 pinions. Broke body. Spent £20 on eBay to firm up gearing area. It isn’t 6S. POSITIVES - Not touched anything other than that. 😅

14:14 the maxx handling is shit man.. i have maxx v1 ,kagama and kraton and maxx is really just bad at handling in compare to them. it's great truck in terms of durability ,also probably jump better and i really like it but it just can't drive without tsm😂😂

I think it’s the thick equally weighted diff fluid that makes it hard to corner with! Enjoyable because of its durability. Dependable! 😂
