upgrade video for transom, trim tabs, turning stabilisers, rudder and water cooler jacket. Most upgrades parts are sourced from www.rcboatbitz.com and www.ebay.com.
Hey just a easy way to get those hoses on,they make a 90 degree needle nose that are different lengths.Work perfect getting those hoses on in tight places, great video👍
Thank you it was my first crack at upgrades, so I glad it helps.Looks like a bit of work went into the trailer, that is awesome. My mates keep telling me to build one for my Emmax
Thank you for comment as its great to hear it helped you, my mate encouraged me to do them as he said it may help others, I had tried to find how to upgrade videos, but couldn't find any. It be great to see your boat once you upgrade it.
big big help i did not no whar to run the tubes thanks to your vid my boat has the same motor cooler and the 2 tube system but mine came with a 2 port outlet for the tubes to come out the same side thanks agn god bless youtube what did we do be for youtube
I need some help can you tell me where to get y connectors for the hose and where to get the things that the hose gose from the rudder on the back please?
Great 3 videos Chris. Watched them a handful of times, including today when I installed all the Boat Bitz parts. Only tweaks from yours I found was a dual input plate for the rear tubes, and another output from Traxxas for the opposite side of the boat so they match. Couple of questions: Did you end up attaching the 2 extra drive bolts at the top? What settings do you like best for the trim tabs, fins and drive? Thanks again!!
Sorry about late reply Kurt had trouble getting on internet. I found it definitely doesn't need the extra bolts at this stage, so to save drilling more holes in the rear hull I have chosen not to at this point. I have the outside curved corning blades straight up and down even with rear of boat. The flat trim plates i have them at a slight angle pointing down to help push the nose down as the power goes on the prop tends to try and lift the boat out the water quite easily when the wind picks up and the water starts getting rougher. The drive is more of a feel and look to make sure the angle the drive shaft spindle coming out of the tube is not putting friction on it when you turn it. Once you can feel the flexible shaft is not grabbing or binding in any way, you can be pretty sure you have it sorted. Hope to see your boat on the water in you tube, that be great.
Hi Chris, thanks for sharing these great videos specially for the ones upgrading to the RC Boat Bitz complete setup. These struts use the original Traxxas flex shaft as I see. They also offer a 3/16 strut only kit for thicker flex cables. I have seen on forums that the guys break these stock cables alot. Now, if we have these RC Boat Bitz struts and later want to upgrade to a 3/16 for better performance is it just changing the bearings to accept this larger cable?? I really want to know this. Thanks!
JR's Tints No, if you upgrade to a 3/16 flex cable, you have to replace the collet, shaft, stinger and the prop nut, which they have it all as well at RC Boat Bits.
+BRIAN SCHICK Hi Brian i picked up most of my parts from RC Boat Bitz and E bay, just type into search Traxxas Spartan upgrades, are you referring to where the water comes out on the side of the boat or the water cooler around electric motor?
sorry about delay, i couldn't get on to reply. The splash guard helps prevent water going in over the back when reversing, i found a few guys had fitted one for this reason but no one actually showed how to fit one. I hope it helps.
