Damn did the heavy hit on the tire just put leverage on that inner bearing? I’ve had some insane crashes and I’ve never had that happen. Most of my crashes are when you hit a jump going 40mph and it immediately goes into a nosedive… then does like 4 awful front flips, body flies off…. Truck is fine. 3D printed motor mounts, TPU with 90% infill and a good amount of glue on the screws works awesome
Yeah, they say the Xmaxx is tough, but they often leave out the "for it's size" part. Something on my Xmaxx breaks every single time I go out. I'm always chasing things down. I've almost bought enough replacements parts to build a whole new Xmaxx.
….how? 😅🤣 I keep having horrible nosedive crashes and I never have issues. I put on captured pins, motor mount washers, 46T gearing, and a 3D printed motor mount on… things unstoppable
@@V8chump The parts can only take so many hits. I've replaced both front and rear bumper mounts. First they look warped, but still work. Then a piece of it breaks. Then it fails. Same for all parts. I don't recommend a 3D printed motor mount at all. It will break 100% guaranteed. You need a metal motor mount.
@@V8chump It's a long list, but for the most part it's my own personal taste to blame. If you keep the Xmaxx bone stock, the only thing that goes wrong is the rear arm hinge pins and you just through bolt it for an easy cheap and permanent fix. Otherwise the stock Xmaxx is extremely durable. However I learned on an Outcast and I like big air with big flips. Stock won't do what I ask. So the first step is gears which you end up chewing through. Then you replace the esc or esc and motor with a hobbywing max6 or 5 and a beefier motor to fix the overheating. Well now it has a lot more power and mod 1 gears become like paper. So you upgrade to mod 1.5. Now you have the power to do all the flips you wants and start blowing ring gears like crazy. Go through a few sets of gears and pinions before you thing you got it right. If your body isn't completely shredded by now, it will be. So you buy an unbreakable body to compensate. By now the shocks need servicing and you've probably broken your front upper bulkhead without knowing. Then you drive through some water and your bearings seized up. Then you have a bad landing and your bumper is broken. You have another hard landing and your steering bellcrank snaps. You get everything patched up and have another hard landing and break the cone that holds the bellcrank. You have another bad landing and break a front axle carrier. Then you bend an axle or two which cause more wear on your bearings. By now you've wrenched on it so much that there are a ton of stripped screws and you will need to replace some bigger parts which is where I'm at now. I'm doing a complete rebuild here in the next week. My Xmaxx is a beast and is fun, but breaks a lot. It is nowhere near stock and I think it all just snowballs out of control.
