Happy upgrading, got mine finally where it needs to be. Max5/6 with 1650/1100 kv and tekno pinion with gds spur and change out servo. Oh and i got rpm carriers in the back. Also use drive cup sleeves or something. They shred easy.

Hello the Xmaxx is a awesome truck. Have one my self. Some recommendations for you. Make sure the diffs front and rear have fluid. Also check the gear mesh between spur and pinon. Make sure the shock oil is full. I personally took the while truck apart before u drove it. Quality controll from factory isn't that great. If this is truly your first RC. You definitely want to make sure the truck is truly ready before you run it. Or it could become a headache with in the first set of batteries. Have fun with it. It will take a beaten for sure. It's a huge truck with lots of power just be careful where you run it.. Enjoy it

@SomeGuy's Garage hey bud. Yeah I just saw that. Did you try to recalibrate/sink the controller to the ESC. Traxxas electronics suck in my opinion. Especially for the price of the truck. They will replace the esc but you will need to send it back to traxxas in Texas. Or I suggest just changing it out for a HW or castle esc. I personally threw a Castle XLX2 in mine with a 1100kv motor running 25/30 gears. And it rips even more niw

@@SomeGuysGarage Traxes electronics are garbage. The motor is awesome the ESC will replace it before it Burns down your whole truck. It's almost impossible to put out the fire once it starts. The hobby wing Mac 6 is a $160 I believe. Amain hobbies.

They're both awesome...the XRT is like the Ford F-150 Raptor, the Xmaxx is like the Ford Bronco, one's a little more baja, the other's a little more off roady.

Hahah it sure is...long wheelie is going to be tough without finding a way to weight the back end and slow it down, it just gets going wayyy too fast to hold it.

Yup, ground clearance. I'm in Canada, so snowy a lot of the time, wanted to be able to drive it up snow banks and such.

Yup, expensive here too $1400 CAD + tax for the truck $600 CAD + tax for the batteries and charger Total was $2300 CAD for this tihng. And if you saw my latest video, died before I even got a chance to drive it properly :(

@SomeGuysGarage Sorry to hear that, few things worse than working hard and saving for something only to have it not work. I had the XMaxx 8s before yours and it used to blow spur and pinion gears non stop. Even worse if I used self right. I hope it works out for you.

@Alex Martin hello Alex: the self righting feature is the worst part of the truck. Never should have been installed on truck. If you don't have the perfect mesh on gears. You will continue to go threw gears. I'm old school I use the paper trick to set my gears. I also take the walk of shame to flip over my Xmaxx. Surprised you haven't blown out a diff yet

Funny, you said the controller was a little plasticky!😅 Almost all rc controllers are plastic. If they were metal and you dropped it. You'd have a dent

You're right, the XRT is the twin of the Xmaxx...they are similar platforms, motors, ESC, etc. just different stance

Had the xmaxx very unstable out of the box for the money that you pay for them, corner speed rolling over front flips even without too much brake on .. changed diff oils, shock oils still not much difference.. purchased the XRT and out of the box is a much better truck . Handling corner speed , wheelies ..had traxxas for over 20 years and I think they need to really get things right before I buy another one ..

@@rare4v1 well that makes sense, the Xmaxx is more for bashing/off road/stunts so it's going to be less stable. The XRT is more for racing/road/handling so it's going to be far more stable. Sounds like you found the right truck for what you want to do with it :)

Why is it that all traxxas stuff looks so cheap.That charger I'm sure is not cheap to buy.I purchased an Xmaxx a couple years ago and love it but I had to put another 500 bucks into it to make me feel like I can actually drive it with out the thing blowing apart

Yeah...I've had a few issues with mine, the ESC was dead out of the box and a bunch of bearings seized up...and the body shell was definitely on its way to being destroyed before I did a few things to it and had a couple tires de-glue...
