I am in utter shock Vintage Optimus Primal is one of my fav figures and I had no idea you could change how the arms swing around! It wasn't mentioned in your first video at all so I had no clue! It was next me when I was watching this and I literally had to pause to try it out. Speechless. The Repugnas song was also bliss.
I had this reaction to Gav's last video with the sword storage. Had it since I was a kid and had no clue they could go in there. I even dug out the original instructions and yep, mentioned right in there.
I appreciate that repugnus’ voice is still higher at the end, which is a delightful peek behind the curtain & shows Gav wasn’t gonna be arsed to actually sing a higher tune with the key changes, and honestly I highly respect it
The EFFORT put into that musical number at the end, holy heck! (Also, in case anyone curious, "skeleton" is the slang term for something translucent in Japanese, which is why this 'Skeleton Convoy' isn't particularly boney, even if he is still plenty spooky)
I always love this kind of transparent repaint,it makes the figure even fun with the light on it,I love primal transparent repaints, like burning convoy from BW II and skeleton convoy,I hope if they will repaint the MP primal into this guy
Takara factory worker: "Man, I really got to get this mould finished for its re-release." Boss: "Hey, we upped the schedule just because we felt like it. Now give us somethin' or yer fired, because we're just arse holes like that." Worker: ~looks at prototype~ ".....Introducing Skeleton Convoy! The kids'll love it!" Boss: "Amazing! Make these in the hundreds and market them IMMEDIATELY."
The song had me crying tears of pure emotion That performance had more impact on me than when I didnt get to see Queen at live aid because I hadn't been born yet
Loved the surprise musical number. Actual clever rhymes, not just saying the names! Effort appreciated. Also, a surprise appearance by clown-colors Mindwipe. Neat.
That chest-beat gimmick’s an all-timer. Back in the 90s I chose 🦖 over 🦍, but I picked up the Walmart reissue munky last year and what fun! So much more satisfying to fiddle with than Megs’ claw. Also, no one asked, but I do wish Nemesis Primal’s main color were more meaningfully different than regular Optimus Primal’s. Maybe a nice cool grey or something.
Oh aye, bit of Chima on the monkey shelf? Glad to see a bit of love for that line. One of the vehicles from its first year is one of my favourite toys of all time. Chima enjoyers HMU
I got this video in autoplay, and the first thing I thought was like "wow, isn't it crazy I'm watching a old TRDQ that's set right before Halloween, crazy how I've never watched this episode before?" Then I realized you just uploaded it 59 minutes ago 🤦♂️
The sound of the box hitting the wall is almost exactly the first few notes that kick off Dispersion Relation, aka Jobby's transformation background music. I do not know why I have the micro-superpower of identifying small clusters of notes, I just do.
I had the original Beast Wars Transformer Optimus Primal. He was and still is a great toy. REPUGNUS' SONG IS SIMPLY ONE OF THE GREATEST MOMENTS IN RU-vid HISTORY! I SEE AWARDS IN THE FUTURE! (I'm not some kind of psychic and I really can't see the future, but it's just a fantastic song. I LOVE IT)
I always feel kinda bad whenever I see translucent transformers of any kind, or any transformers transparent plastic, because my brain always goes “that’s a time bomb waiting to happen.” Now not every transformer with clear plastic is doomed to break. Like have a couple transformers energon toys that have actually held up rather well even to this day. Still though, living in a day and age where clear/translucent plastic is highly frowned upon, makes it hard to fully enjoy transformers with those kinds of parts because of the risk. Especially when hinge joints are made of the clear/translucent plastic.
This toy looks excellent, and I’m surprised it works! That’s a lot of clear plastic over important joints… (I am very proud and very concerned of repugnus being able to just jump into song on a whim. Does that happen often?)
