I do love Deathsaurus, and the TF team’s approach to Haslab feels way more genuine than the Marvel side of things, but I wish we could at least get this level of care from mainline releases. Not to say every figure needs to be a new mould with paint to the teeth and every screen accurate accessory they’ve ever breathed in the same room as, but I think the team know when they nail it, and when they haven’t. I know there’s probably a lot of restrictions for each release, but if every figure could feel like it aspires to Deathsaurus, that would be enough. We should all aspire to be like Deathsaurus.
I really appreciate that you take time to contemplate a toy before reviewing it. Just because a video is done quick, it doesn’t mean the thought going into it has to be!
I'm a toy collector (with broad tastes) that also occasionally collects Transformers. Usually because I'm smitten with a design; over any nostalgia for a character(s). Deathsaurus has to be one of the coolest looking Transformers I've ever seen! Thank you for this great review - I'm sold, now to find one 🙃
In terms of a “scale of 1-to-10,” review, the throne alone is worth at least a point! If that’s never replicated for any other toy, I’ll be severely disappointed.
Deathsaurus deserves more Attention in Modern Transformers Media outside of his respective Continuity via a Main Villain role and just like RID Steeljaw,He also has the potential to become the New Leader of the Decepticons. I'm getting him for my Transformers Synergy series as the Main Villain of S3.
I wish I could find this Deathsuares figure, I missed the mark when he was being funded but, I’m sure I’ll find him one day, or something very close to it
If you’d have asked me before this video which of the chest partners was which, I don’t think I’d ever have guessed that the one with the two giant golden wings coming out of it wasn’t the eagle.
I would, but I just preordered the Titan-class Tidal Wave and the Commander-class Magmatron. I also don't know if I want to drop that kinda money down on one figure. Though his mullet _is_ damn enticing..
I hope the vac metal(?) on tigerboob stands the test of time, thinking of the utter sloughing a lot of the chromed beast era toys suffered. I think i saw some sort of shiny foil for gunpla that someone used as a perfect match for their scratched haslab star saber though so maybe there's hope?
Really is a superb figure that I have failed to play with much cos I got Legacy Armada Prime and a MP10 in the same few weeks. Pipo and Boater are so good though. It's absurd how much better they are compared to the other 2.
What I really don't like about the crowdfunding model is that you HAVE to pre-order. By the time you see (delicious and expensive) reviews like this, it's too late, and you can only get it on the secondary market for even more than it costs at retail.
I'll get him eventually when I get the money. But I'm proud to have backed RiD Omega Prime. But fall of 2025? They better be making it out of liquid gold with that release date
I've always thought Deathsaurus was a cool character, even if I never fully watched Victory. I've only handled mine a bit but I'm trying to clear my deskspace to enjoy him proper.
I thought the figure was ok but all I see is how Hasbro cut corners while making this crowdfunded figure for collectors. They could have easily covered up the swivel joints and hollow pieces. They could have designed the base to actually store EVERY accessory included. They could have designed the throne so that he can actually SIT on it instead of hovering his ass over the seat. I only got this guy because of Star Saber and this will be the last Haslab I'll get.
Deathsaurus turns into a cockatrice. Just with added T-Rex arms. Seriously, google cockatrice, Deathsaurus turns into a robotic version of cockatrice, with hands.
A lovely big Death Chicken, a toy I'd definitely like to have but one that's out of my limits. Still though, it is great to see and also does inspire me a little to continue watching the Japanese TF shows.
