Excellent story and expertly narrated! I love classic horror as well as (some) modern horror, and I have been a sci-fi fan since I discovered HG Wells as a kid in the 70's. This story was not only well written and superbly narrated, I believe that the classic sci fi and horror authors or a century past would nod in approval at your presentation.
This was written by someone who knows nothing about submarines, or diving for that matter. Being both a former USN submariner, and a diver it just instantly tears me out of any immersion I had. Submarines, except for rare rather primitive exceptions, do not increase internal pressure as you go deeper. You can't just keep increasing pressure as you'll have issues like nitrogen narcosis where you start getting to a drunk like state. Then there's Partial Pressure of Oxygen. You have to reduce the amount of oxygen in a mix as you go deeper or you'll have oxygen toxicity for example.
One does indeed receive awards for deep ocean operations. That Captain must have seen some stuff, that's why this mission doesn't seem to surprise him. I assume this ocean is on a distant alien planet, given talk of orbital strikes and that Earth is far away, plus no ocean on Earth is this deep. Feels like Subnautica.
Just randomly found your channel. Awesome collection. I love sci-fi and cosmic tales so I’ve been burning thru SCP fiction. This the type of channel I’ve been looking for.
Damn magnatar wonderful work! Your music selection was amazing, not to mention your voice! This story + the way you naratted kept me pulled in the whole time. you're channel is the chef's kiss of sifi creepypasta, Keep it up man!

Hey my Friend thanks for another awesome narration. Can't imagine being in the deep ocean in a dark cave with a monster for company lol. I'm gonna watch part 2 thanks again
Questioned this too. I rationalized it by assuming it didn't puncture completely. Certainly could do with some better word choice or my clarity from the author.
if you look at the extreme depth dive suits the U.S. Navy uses they are basically body shaped submarines built with all hard materials. so if the pressure is low enough to wear a soft suit, then puncturing the suit shouldn't kill you.
The first five minutes made me give up on this being a “good” story because the in-story procedures surrounding the mission (especially operating the vehicle) is a HOT MESS of nonsense and backwards logic. But I’m still gonna listen because I love creepy stories about the ocean and mysterious weird shit going on, haha.
