scanning is a really useful thing to know how to do. It's necessary in wormhole space and handy nearly everywhere else. For example: You forgot to bookmark your mobile tractor unit and warped off the finished site. Scan that thing down! Trying to find that wormhole before you light that cyno and jump in your expensive ship? Scan it down so you can roll it. It's a good upgrade to buy sisters probes and they can be reused. You just need about 16 of them (in case you forget a set) but they are way cheaper than the sisters launcher and a straight 10% upgrade in scan strength. There's always a frigate with scan bonuses, and the generics (sunesis destroyer and the like) are also so bonused. Once you're in a bigger ship, you can swap out the relic and data site modules by carrying around a mobile depot. Last tip: You can launch probes and cloak your ship. It doesn't interfere with the operation of the probes and is safer than just hanging there in space while you're in the probe interface. You can recover them cloaked too, just not launch while cloaked.
If your looking to make good isk don't ignore those wormholes. the sites in wormhole space have about the same isk as sites in nullsec but wormholes are usually empty compared. I make roughly 400m an hour in in wormholes. Just make sure to keep an eye on d scan and train into a cloaking device soon. Ill see you there :)
also only warp to the sites with faction names if you want to keep your ship, they only spawn in lower class wormholes so look for holes with a more grayish blue tone, harsh reds are higher class wormholes which don't spawn the safe and valuable faction sites
One of my go-to ways to get money is taking a needlejack filament out to null sec, getting a bunch of relic loot, and then using pochven filaments to get back to hi sec
Basically you can use these items called filaments that jump your ship to various places depending on what type of filament you use, you can use them to get in and out of nullsec without using gates to get there
My offer of corp is still open after you do the SoE epic arc :) it will give you access to medium-large scale fleets in lowsec faction war and nullsec, as well as big isk making opportunities, the relic sites in this area of nullsec are upwards of 100m per site and the hacking is basically as hard as lowsec. I try to make my corp a good stepping stone for new players, as well as a place to stay if people want but as a small corp we know we cant provide everything
