Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen speaks Thursday at a news conference on the state of the U.S. economy.
Yellen’s comments follow news that the U.S. economy contracted for the second consecutive quarter from April to June, according to an advance estimate from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Gross domestic product declined 0.9% at an annualized pace for that period. The economy shrank by 1.6% in the first quarter.

@@gaileickhoff116 1. Limit your spending/cut off retail therapy 2.Put the extra cash towards investing in high yielding or steady investment. 3. Get a financial coach/mentor to guide through your investing goal. These might look simple but they require good amount of willpower, but through mentorship, I've been able to consistently grow my portfolio to $800K and I'm looking forward to retiring at 50 as well and I only wish I started up early. Goodluck

Has no idea how to fix this - think about it the secretary of the treasury says that she misjudged inflation well then resign you weren't hired to be wrong the American people are sick and tired of these financial meltdowns every few years while being taxed to death and now we are paying an inflation penalty because this administration doesn't know how to run an economy

Full employment does not include homeless population or jobs that are below the local cost of living. One half of all work is paid less than 4 times the rent for one bedroom apartment local commute and sharing housing to have shelter and food.

It was recently believed that Russia needed a pipeline of oil to Canada from Wyoming and Texas to Canadian ports on the Arctic. The lower price for oil should benefit the Russians economy unless they have stopped shipping oil from Canada and Venezuela.

Dumping 12 trillion dollars into the economy is effective but did not improve the standard of living and the homeless population across the country continues to grow. Wages have not reached the cost of living for one half of the working population.

Inflation rate is a natural phenomena due to the flood of money into the market and the increase in the minimum wage in the poorest states. The inflation rate is not as challenging as the criminal wages impoverishing generations of children in the USA.
